I can't believe this was the last book in the Blackwell series. Where You Belong by Kristen Proby was a beautiful ending, narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York.
Book Description
Brooks
Fifteen years ago, I’d planned a romantic proposal, but that was the day Juliet walked out of my life and never looked back. I never wanted to see her again and decided that love wasn’t for me. But now, Juliet has returned to Bitterroot Valley and opened a restaurant. Catching glimpses of her around town makes my heart ache. I want to hate her. I wish she’d do what she does best and go away.
Instead, I find myself wanting to be near her. Helping her. Touching her perfect skin. I don’t want to love her. I don’t want to need her.
Juliet
Coming home to Bitterroot Valley might have been a mistake. Just because I grew up here doesn’t mean I belong here. Honestly, I’ve never felt like I belong anywhere. But once I was finally free from the man who lied and controlled me, I knew I needed to be in Montana. My new restaurant, Sage & Citrus, is a big hit, and I’m making friends. But more importantly, Brooks is here.
I know he doesn’t want me, but having him nearby is a balm to my jagged heart. The more I see him, the more I’m reminded that Brooks Blackwell is my soulmate. But has too much time passed? Or will we finally get our happily ever after?

My Thoughts
Saying goodbye to the Blackwells of Montana series is bittersweet, but Kristen Proby delivered the perfect send-off with Where You Belong. I have been eagerly anticipating Brooks and Juliet’s story, and while I admit I was hesitant about Brooks after his behavior in When You Blush, he completely redeemed himself. In true Proby fashion, she managed to save the best Blackwell brother for last, delivering a story that is equal parts emotional, heartwarming, and incredibly spicy.
The story centers on a heavy second-chance trope fifteen years in the making. Juliet has returned to Bitterroot Valley to open her allergy-friendly restaurant, Sage & Citrus, and to heal after escaping a manipulative and controlling relationship. Brooks, the local mechanic and oldest Blackwell sibling, was ready to propose the day she left all those years ago. While he initially tries to hold onto his resentment, his protective instincts kick in almost immediately. Watching them navigate their shared history was fascinating; they had to overcome a decade and a half of pain, but because their connection was so deep, the transition from animosity back to love felt earned rather than rushed.
The chemistry between these two is absolute perfection. Brooks surprised me with his "filthy mouth"—the spice level in this finale is definitely higher than in previous entries, and I was here for every moment of it. Beyond the steam, the emotional depth of the story shines. I loved how the narrative handled Juliet’s trauma and her journey to finding herself again, all while highlighting the tight-knit, banter-filled dynamic of the Blackwell family. It was a joy to see the previous couples one last time and watch the siblings support one another.
The experience was elevated to new heights by the brilliant narration of Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York. They are two of my all-time favorites, and they absolutely slayed this performance. York captured Brooks’ gruff protectiveness and dirty talk perfectly, while Brentmoor brought incredible vulnerability and strength to Juliet. They made the banter sing and the emotional moments hit harder, sweeping me away entirely.
I was so invested in seeing Brooks and Juliet finally get their happily ever after. If you enjoy small-town romances, second chances that span decades, and fiercely protective heroes, this is a must-listen. It is a fitting conclusion to a wonderful series that I am sad to see come to an end.
