Book Description
She’s the one that got away. This Christmas, with my eighty-year-old grandmother as my wingman, I'm getting her back.

PAIGE
I’m a dog trainer. I can teach any unruly pup to sit, stay, and not eat the furniture. My ex-boyfriend, however, is a whole other breed.
A year ago, Josh became a millionaire after creating a wildly popular video game... about dogs. My idea, by the way. I took one look at his new bank account and ran—all the way to another continent.
Now I’m home for Christmas, and his matchmaking Nana has decided it's time for a reunion. She’s deploying her secret weapon (a guilt-inducing collie) and hiding cookies in the frozen vegetable bag. She's nuts. But the way Josh still looks at me—like he remembers every stupid word I ever made up—makes me wonder if I'm the crazy one for ever leaving.
JOSH
My girlfriend—the only woman who truly understands that dogs are better than people—gave me the idea for a game that made me millions. And then she left me. Says I can’t use my money to take care of her.
Now she's back, and my eighty-year-old grandmother is playing puppet master with our lives. Paige says she’s leaving after the holidays, but I see through her tough-girl act. She’s the one who got away, and I was a fool to let her go. Nana's methods may be chaotic, but she's right about one thing: Paige belongs with me. And this time, I’m not taking no for an answer.

Danika Bloom is a USA Today bestselling author who always wanted to be the mom in The Partridge Family or The Brady Bunch, but since she only had one child, she lives out her mom-of-many fantasies in her rom-com series about bands of brothers.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Danika, that's kind of creepy when you think about it. Moms writing steamy rom-com about their sons ... you might want to rethink this bio.
My Thoughts
Oh, my goodness, I could not put down Third Party: Merry with the Millionaire by Danika Bloom, brilliantly narrated by the dynamic duo, Laura Jennings & Chip Hurley! This book absolutely has "don't need to know about the book, just need to get it" status on my TBR list. Danika Bloom has written a 5-star story that will have you hooked from the first page until the last, desperately needing to find out what Paige and Josh will do.
This is the story of Paige and Josh, best friends who fell in love, only for their relationship to be derailed by Paige's deep-seated insecurities about money and her need for self-sufficiency. It was important to Paige to have the security of a job and a way to take care of herself, so she put her career ahead of Josh, leading to their painful split two years ago, right after Josh became a millionaire by creating a wildly popular video game—based on Paige's idea about dogs, no less. She took one look at his bank account and ran, all the way to another continent.
Now, Paige is home for Christmas, and the drama kicks off immediately. She stops in to see Josh's match-making Nana, and when she ends up walking the family dog, Ranger, she runs straight into Josh, who had no idea she was back. He sees Ranger, calls his name, and the dog rushes to him, confusing Josh until Paige yells "Stop!" and they lock eyes for the first time since he told her he was done and not to come back home.
Josh thought he had finally gotten over her, but seeing her again proves he was wrong, and Paige has never gotten over him either. He sees through her tough-girl act, knowing she's the one who got away, and he was a fool to let her go. Now, Nana—that wonderful woman who is strong enough to keep her six grandsons in line—is playing puppet master with their lives, deploying her guilt-inducing collie and even hiding cookies in the frozen vegetable bag. She's nuts, but she refuses to let go of Paige and Josh as a couple, acting as the best wingman a millionaire could ask for.
The book is filled with swirling emotions, but the wonderful thing is that Paige and Josh don't dwell on the past; instead, they go right to the hard conversation, working on getting their priorities straight and figuring out how to move forward. The story beautifully showcases great relationship tools, like their ritual of Appreciations—ending the day with one thing they're grateful for in the other person—and affirmations for grounding before a hard conversation.
The audiobook has wonderful narration by Laura Jennings & Chip Hurley, which is another huge bonus; they truly captivated me and brought the author's words and all of Paige's wonderful, mixed-up words to life. It's a wonderful read, a touching story of forgiveness and second chances, not just in romance but in family, too. I would absolutely recommend this wonderful book to anyone!
