Book Description
What happens when a woman falls in love with her stalker?
I'm not the type of woman who actually inspires passion in any guy, much less one who makes it a habit to watch me because he's obsessed.
I'm a curvy, plain Jane. I like my chips, chocolate, and junk food, and it definitely shows.
I'm an educated geek who would rather have my nose in a computer instead of a fashion magazine.
But none of those things seem to matter to Stalker. He sees something in me that I don't see in myself, and I don't know why.
I'm terrified, yet I'm inexplicably intrigued.
I'm cautious by nature, but something makes me want to know who he is, and why he gives a sh*t about somebody like me.
I know falling for a man I've never seen in the light of day is dangerous.
Does he stalk me because he wants to own me, control me, and make me into the woman he thinks that I am?
Does he want to hurt me, or is he just a lost soul like me?
And why did it feel so good to touch him under the cover of darkness?
Is he my nightmare or my dearest stalker?
Getting to know him might be foolish, but for some reason, I just can't walk away...

My Thoughts
What happens when a woman falls in love with her stalker? J.S. Scott (writing as Lane Parker) explores this very question in the dark, emotional, and utterly captivating Dearest Stalker: A Complete Collection. Brilliantly performed by narrators Elizabeth Powers and Dexter Collins, this four-part series starts with a premise that feels a bit weird but quickly evolves into an unputdownable romance I ended up loving.
The story introduces Kate, a self-described curvy "plain Jane" who feels lost and alone after the death of her estranged father. It’s then that she becomes the object of a mysterious man's obsession. This "stalker" sees something in her that she doesn't see in herself, paying her bills and watching from the shadows. The first half of the collection builds a thrilling and spicy mystery around his identity. As he visits her under the cover of darkness for blindfolded, sensual encounters, you, along with Kate, become desperate to know who he is.
The narrative deepens when Kate begins working for her step-family's company and finds herself drawn to her reclusive and badly scarred oldest stepbrother, Ian Blackwell. As she develops a connection with the cranky, lonely man, who is battling severe PTSD from the accident that scarred him, the story blossoms into a powerful "Beauty and the Beast" romance. Both characters are weighed down by insecurity, and their shared vulnerability creates a powerful bond that culminates in the shocking reveal of the stalker's identity.
The final part of the collection masterfully resolves the deception and fear, as Kate and Ian must learn to trust each other in the light of day. Their journey is about two broken souls finding a way to heal and complete one another, wrapping up their story beautifully.
The narration for this collection is absolutely fantastic. Elizabeth Powers and Dexter Collins deliver a true dual performance, voicing their respective characters' dialogue throughout, which makes for a wonderfully immersive experience. Dexter Collins's sexy voice is perfect for the mysterious stalker, and the entire production is brilliantly done.
While the storyline may start on an unconventional note, Dearest Stalker is a unique and compelling series that I was so glad I read. I was completely hooked from start to finish.
