Book Description
Rescued from the slums and molded into a gentleman, Simon Alexander lost the love of his life to a mystical world he’s always spurned. Still searching for the time traveler who stole his heart, he’ll stop at nothing to find her. When he does, he finds he can’t trust her—or his desire. Will he be able to tame his fear, and his hellion, once and for all?
She’s a time-traveling socialite...Transforming Emma Breslin from a poverty-stricken termagant into an aristocrat is easier than anyone imagined. Nearly overnight, she delights society as a trendsetting sensation. Torn between her obsession with the man who’s never forgiven her for leaving and her fight to safeguard the magical gem she stole from him, Emma battles to survive without the man she loves. But when her life is threatened, Simon Alexander is the only person in any time she can trust.
Come along for a scandalous story where passion defies time and love conquers betrayal.
About Tracy Summer
The USA Today bestselling author's storytelling career began when she picked up a historical romance on a college beach trip, and she fondly blames LaVyrle Spencer for her obsession with the genre. She’s a recipient of the National Reader’s Choice, HOLT Medallion, Golden Leaf and MAGGIE among others. She lived in New York, Paris and Taipei before returning to her fav city on the planet: NYC.
When not writing sizzling love stories about feisty heroines and their temperamental-but-entirely-lovable heroes, Tracy enjoys reading, snowboarding, college football (Go Tigers!), yoga, and travel. She loves to hear from romance readers!
My Thoughts
In this story Simmon who we met in the first book as a child has grown up to be a man tortured by his past. He is unsettled and not able to merge who he was and where came from with the man he is now. Plus, he is longing for a woman he thought had left him.
Emma never thought she would see Simmon again. So when he shows up in her time and whisks her back to his time for her safety she isn't sure how to feel. As the League molds into a lady of society, all Emma wants is to be with Simmon if she can forgive him for not waiting.
These two characters are perfect for each other. Raised in the slums of England they understand each other. The problem is they see the past with different views. This causes them to butt heads often because they can't seem to communicate without getting their feelings hurt.
The chemistry between these two was so good and I was beyond happy to see them make their way through the past and the future to be together. I loved how Tracy gave us torture heroes we wanted to save and strong heroines we wanted to root for. As someone who loves paranormal romances, this book was the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I could see this series as a mini-series on Netflix of such. It was that good for me.
