As a huge fan of Tracy Summer, this book was a great way to kick off a series of stories dealing with some musical gifts.

What’s a reluctant viscount to do when the woman he can’t have becomes the woman he can’t live without?

Viscount Julian Alexander works dutifully to protect London’s outcast clairvoyants. But when the woman he’s sworn to keep from harm threatens to turn his orderly life and League of the gifted upside down, he finds himself craving her above all others. And with her brash American ways driving him to distraction, he fears the ensuing chaos could expose them all to danger.

Psychic healer Lady Piper Scott is tired of being ignored by the man she desires. In an impulsive bid to draw his attention, she slips her protective leash to pose as a medium for bored aristocrats. But when an arsonist turns the séance into an inferno, her plan simultaneously succeeds and fails when Julian flies into a rage… and then whisks her away to his mansion, alone.

Confronted with the woman’s implacable persistence, the handsome nobleman worries that giving into his heart will only inch her closer to those who would abuse her power. But Piper is more resolute than ever to prove her place is by his side, opposing their enemies together.

About Tracy Summer

The USA Today bestselling author's storytelling career began when she picked up a historical romance on a college beach trip, and she fondly blames LaVyrle Spencer for her obsession with the genre. She’s a recipient of the National Reader’s Choice, HOLT Medallion, Golden Leaf and MAGGIE among others. She lived in New York, Paris and Taipei before returning to her fav city on the planet: NYC.

When not writing sizzling love stories about feisty heroines and their temperamental-but-entirely-lovable heroes, Tracy enjoys reading, snowboarding, college football (Go Tigers!), yoga, and travel. She loves to hear from romance readers!

My Thoughts

As someone who has spent a lot of time fan-girling over characters like Thor, wolverine, and Aquaman. I mean I was that travel agent who stood in line for 45 minutes to have my picture taken with Thor. This book was right up my alley for instant love.

Right from the moment I met Juliane and Piper, I knew these characters would steal my heart. Then add in Finn, Humphrey, and Monnie oh and Simon I was in love. I read a review somewhere that this book is kind of like X-Men meets historic romance and it truly has that feel about it which is why I could not put it down.

When we meet Piper, she has once again gone off on her own causing Juliane her self-proclaimed protector to go after her. But as we soon learn Piper doesn't want a protector, she wants Juliane to be her husband, friend, and lover. She wants all of Juliane including his heart. As Piper works her magic on Juliane to win his heart he is fighting just as hard to keep a promise to keep her safe. As these two play a game of cat and mouse we soon learn that sometimes being the chaser and be as much fun as being the one chased.

I truly enjoyed how well Tracy described each character's power, and their surroundings, and how she created such unique characters you want to love. Plus the story was filled with so much fun and action with twists and turns.

I loved this book. I love the whole supernatural aspect, the romance, the heat level. Tracy is fast becoming one of my favorite writers. This book was one of my favorites and I can't wait to continue with the story.
