This series by Tracey Summer is just everything. I love it so much.
Book Description
Lady Victoria Hamilton has a supernatural gift, a fiancé, and a guardian angel. She just never expected her protector to be the most dazzling man in England, a devilish scoundrel they call the Blue Bastard. Victoria has agreed to marry for duty, not love, but her unforeseen desire for her mystical angel threatens to destroy not only her plans for the future but the armor surrounding her susceptible heart.
A confirmed scoundrel, a mind reader, and the only man she desires…The illegitimate son of a viscount and reigning king of London’s gossip sheets, Finn Alexander has spent a lifetime hiding his ability to read minds behind charming smiles and wicked behavior. No one knows the real man, and he likes it that way. Until he meets the lone woman who sees the man beneath the disguise—a blue-blooded temptress with the power to bring him to his knees.
As they embark on a journey of passion and friendship, Victoria and Finn must decide if they’re willing to risk everything for the promise of true, magical love.
About Tracy Summer
The USA Today bestselling author's storytelling career began when she picked up a historical romance on a college beach trip, and she fondly blames LaVyrle Spencer for her obsession with the genre. She’s a recipient of the National Reader’s Choice, HOLT Medallion, Golden Leaf and MAGGIE among others. She lived in New York, Paris and Taipei before returning to her fav city on the planet: NYC.
When not writing sizzling love stories about feisty heroines and their temperamental-but-entirely-lovable heroes, Tracy enjoys reading, snowboarding, college football (Go Tigers!), yoga, and travel. She loves to hear from romance readers! My Thoughts
In this second installment of Tracy's series League of Lords, we get to delve deeper into what makes Finn who he is.
Finn has the gift of reading thoughts. A gift that has served him well for years. Left on the streets of London as a small child and rescued by Julienne and Humphrey. Finn has used his gift not only to help the League but also to become the most sought-after man. Known to the London society as the "Blue Bastard". It helps that Finn is also very handsome with striking blue eyes. But Finn's gift for reading thoughts also brings with it a sense of never being able to have a quiet moment or a thought of his own. Soon he is dreaming of the lovely Lady Victoria and it brings him even more complications including finding true love for the first time.
Lady Victoria has spent her life alone. Her only family is her brother who has died and her chaperone Agnes. Victoria has never known love or what it means to have a family. When her parents find themself in debt Victoria is their only hope but Victoria isn't sure she wants to marry the man who could save her family. When her dreams of a young woman lead her to Finn and the League her gift reveals that she could be in true danger. Not just from an outside force but from her own heart.
I love the chemistry between Victoria and Finn. I like that Victoria knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it and that includes Finn. I also love that as hard as Finn tries to be the good guy he can't help but fall from Victoria. I also love seeing Finn have to rely on his feelings and thoughts as Victoria's gift blocks his. It is fun watching him try to figure her out without the help of his gift.
I also love the little quirks Tracy gives her characters like with Victoria living to bake or Belle knotting. These little quirks make me love the characters more.
I know a lot of people have given this series a bad review but I am loving it. I not only get my historical romance fix but I also get my paranormal fix. I feel like I am getting my supernatural characters like the X-Men or even Lucifer but in a historical setting which is just everything for me. Tracy sure has given me everything I want wrapped up in a neat little book. I love the books so much.
