My Thoughts
The Risk Taker by Elle Nicoll is a deeply satisfying, emotional, and perfect conclusion to the Beaufort Billionaire series, brilliantly tying together the underlying family mysteries that have kept readers hooked from book one.
The story follows Jude, who flees to an off-the-grid retreat to escape her cheating ex-fiancé on what was supposed to be her wedding day, only to collide with a mysterious, broody retreat instructor who goes by Woody. What begins as an enemies-adjacent vacation fling and an unforgettable one-night stand quickly spirals into intense banter, jealousy, and an electric pull as Jude realizes the man hiding away in a driftwood-carving shack is not who she thought he was.
As Jude digs closer to the secrets Woody is desperate to protect, she discovers a complex, guarded man carrying immense pain, a haunting history, and the belief that he is a lost cause. In return, Jude brings a fierce warmth and determination that slowly dismantles his walls, showing him he is not as broken as he thinks.
