I was thrilled to dive into The Irresistible One by Marni Mann, an author who is absolutely one of my favorites. I had been eagerly awaiting Colson Weston’s story; the Weston family is already so wonderfully complicated, and delving into his perspective added such a rich new layer to their history.

I had been eagerly awaiting Colson Weston’s story; the Weston family is already so wonderfully complicated, and delving into his perspective added such a rich new layer to their history.

In this story, Colson is a man who always gets what he wants, but he finds himself obsessed with the one woman he cannot have. His search for uninhibited, dark desires leads him to Lush, where he encounters a breathtaking blonde in a crimson dress. After one night together, she becomes an instant fixation—she is daring, captivating, and utterly unforgettable.

The conflict is masterfully set up, as the woman who ruined him for anyone else turns out to be completely out of his reach. She is off-limits, untouchable, and the absolute enemy of everything he stands for. However, when their scorching chemistry and razor-sharp banter collide, staying away from her becomes impossible.

The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Desireé Ketchum was truly fabulous; they embodied these characters so well and brought an incredible intensity to the performance. This book is a layered emotional ride, balancing a naughty enemies-to-lovers dynamic with the high stakes of a billionaire, single-dad romance. Once again, Marni Mann had me staying up until the wee hours of the morning, unable to put the story down until I had devoured every last word.
