In Rocket Ship Road Trip, written by Jack Bodett and narrated by Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder, the "No Stress Space Express" series continues its streak of wholesome, low-stakes fun. This is a universe where nobody hates, nobody lies, and the typical tropes of war or profanity are replaced by genuine kindness.
Book Description
Sometimes the detour is the destination…
Hey, bud. It's Captain Rusty, gearin' up to haul a load of space freight through the Vorn Abyss. Sounds like a heavy-metal band, but it's a patch of space with wonky gravity, where your ship gets pulled in more directions than a dog walker at a squirrel convention. It's gonna be a heck of a ride, but our old rig can handle it. Probably.
Me and Piper are ready to kick off our honeymoon as soon as we get back, but Murphy is always watching, and the universe has a way of rearranging your plans faster than a tornado rearranges a trailer park.
Mike and Jenna will be spending the trip in close quarters, and watchin' them dance around each other is more entertaining than a three-legged cat chasing a laser pointer. I tell ya, if a good crew can laugh it off when things go sideways, this mission is gonna have us in stitches.
No Stress Space Express is a series about finding your true family, told with the common-sense wisdom of Jerry Boyd's Bob and Nikki series (Bob's Saucer Repair), and the low-stakes world building of Travis Baldree's Legends & Lattes. Join Rusty and his crew for a heart-warming, laugh-out-loud adventure with no tension, and no drama. Just good clean fun, great friendships, and a little romance too.

My Thoughts
In Rocket Ship Road Trip, written by Jack Bodett and narrated by Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder, the "No Stress Space Express" series continues its streak of wholesome, low-stakes fun. This is a universe where nobody hates, nobody lies, and the typical tropes of war or profanity are replaced by genuine kindness.
The story follows Captain Rusty as he prepares to haul space freight through the Vorn Abyss—a patch of space with gravity so wonky it’s like a dog walker at a squirrel convention. While Rusty and Piper are eager to start their honeymoon, and Mike and Jenna navigate their own charmingly awkward "dance" in close quarters, the universe has a way of rearranging their plans.
When the crew is asked to deliver urgent medicine to a planet in need, a literal space collision occurs. However, in keeping with the series' heartwarming tone, nobody is hurt. Instead, the detour becomes the destination, turning a potential disaster into the best honeymoon anyone could imagine.
Much like the common-sense wisdom of Jerry Boyd’s Bob and Nikki or the cozy world-building of Travis Baldree’s Legends & Lattes, this adventure focuses on finding true family and laughing when things go sideways.
With excellent narration that brings Rusty and his friends to life, this is a delightful, humorous tale where unexpected turns always work out for the better. It is a refreshing reminder of how nice it is to see people simply getting along and helping those in need, making it a perfect series to dive into from the very first book.
