I absolutely loved the emotional depth in All Her Broken Pieces by Mya More. The story is a beautiful, delicate exploration of vulnerability and healing that really pulled at my heartstrings. I found the contrast between the characters so compelling; Bridget has spent so long building walls to protect herself from past hurts, while Ethan is such a refreshing, open-hearted romantic who isn't afraid of a deep connection.

Book Description

Falling in love was never on Bridget’s to-do list. Having sworn off relationships, she’s only interested in temporary flings to avoid getting hurt again. Ethan is a hopeless romantic who loves deeply and wears his heart on his sleeve. When their one-night stand leaves him wanting more, Ethan is determined to get Bridget to take a chance on him. After an unexpected surgery forces her to rely on him, he becomes part of her carefully guarded world. As Ethan pieces together Bridget’s shattered trust, she must decide if she’s ready to risk everything and let herself fall in love. Can he mend all her broken pieces and show her that love is worth it?

About Mya More

With a background in theatre, film, and education, Mya has always had a passion for storytelling. She lives in the Midwest with her husband and children, working a nonromantic job by day while writing romance at night. Her books are contemporary romance with more love, more spice, and more HEAs. When she's not writing, she enjoys reading, singing karaoke, playing mermaids in the pool, and doing puzzles.

My Thought

I absolutely loved the emotional depth in All Her Broken Pieces by Mya More. The story is a beautiful, delicate exploration of vulnerability and healing that really pulled at my heartstrings. I found the contrast between the characters so compelling; Bridget has spent so long building walls to protect herself from past hurts, while Ethan is such a refreshing, open-hearted romantic who isn't afraid of a deep connection.

Their journey starts as a simple one-night stand, but it quickly evolves into something much more profound. Mya More does a masterful job of portraying Bridget’s reluctance to lower her guard. Her scars felt incredibly authentic, making her journey toward trust feel earned rather than rushed. I especially appreciated how Ethan pursued her—it wasn't forceful, but rather a gentle, patient persistence. When an unexpected surgery forced Bridget to finally rely on him, it was touching to see him slowly chip away at her defenses and enter her carefully guarded world.

This isn't a whirlwind romance, and that’s what makes it shine. It’s a gradual unfolding of intimacy, and I found myself rooting for Ethan not just as a suitor, but as someone who genuinely wanted to see Bridget heal. Even though the "damaged woman and unwavering suitor" is a familiar trope, the sincerity in this writing made it feel entirely fresh. The focus stayed on their emotional landscape, allowing their connection to develop in a way that felt completely organic.

The narration was the icing on the cake for me. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais were absolutely flawless in duet style, and having Audrey Obeyn and Logan Prince involved made the entire experience so immersive. It is such a tender, heartfelt story about the courage it takes to be vulnerable again, and it reminded me that even the most fractured hearts can find wholeness with the right person.
