I was thoroughly charmed by Who's Your Daddy by Brittanee Nicole and Jenni Bara, especially with the excellent narration that brought the characters to life, provided by Angelina Rocca, Sean Masters, along with full cast of C.J. Bloom, Connor Crais, and Stephen Dexter. These authors have a distinct way of crafting stories that are equal parts hilarious, sweet, and heart-melting, ensuring plenty of laughter along the way.

Book Description

From the Authors of the Mom Coms comes a laugh out loud new series featuring three single dads.

Fatherhood has never been so hilarious.

Lola Penelope Caruso is my favorite person to torment. When she’s had enough of me, her freckled cheeks go rosy, her tiny hands ball into fists, and she pulls at her signature tight braid and lets down her long red hair.

I thought I'd seen her at her worst when we told her she’d have to move from New York City to a dump in Jersey with our law firm. But then a six-year-old showed up at my office with a note around his neck and my smile on his face, and she had to Who's your daddy?

Now annoying her isn’t quite as fun.

Apparently my ability to keep plants and fish alive does not mean I’m qualified to raise a child. He's smart and funny, and I'm pretty sure he'll raise me with more success than I can him. Fortunately, we have one thing in our infatuation with Lola. Is it possible that she could ever like me as much as she likes him?

My Thoughts

I was thoroughly charmed by Who's Your Daddy by Brittanee Nicole and Jenni Bara, especially with the excellent narration that brought the characters to life, provided by Sean Masters and Angelina Rocca. These authors have a distinct way of crafting stories that are equal parts hilarious, sweet, and heart-melting, ensuring plenty of laughter along the way.

The book introduces us to Lola Penelope Caruso, a fierce and focused paralegal working for a family law firm run by two brothers. When the firm's father suddenly passes away, the brothers—and Lola, the only assistant willing to move—are forced to relocate the business from New York City to a "dump in Jersey" for a year to fulfill the terms of his will. Lola finds the whole situation, particularly the presence of one of the brothers, Cal, utterly irritating, despite a secret, simmering attraction to him.

Cal, the self-proclaimed "goofy golden retriever," lives to get under Lola's skin. As he admits, she's his favorite person to torment, loving the way her cheeks go rosy when she's had enough of him. Unbeknownst to Lola, Cal has been infatuated with her since she started working at the firm but was warned off by his father due to his player reputation. Everything changes instantly when a six-year-old boy shows up at the office with a note around his neck and Cal's smile on his face, proving to be his surprise son, Murphy.

Suddenly, Cal has no choice but to grow up and prove he can be a good father—and a man worthy of Lola's respect and love. The line between enemies and something more quickly begins to blur as Cal leans on Lola to help him navigate surprised fatherhood. The setup is pure romantic comedy gold, fueled by the signature hilarious banter the authors are known for. Lola, who is all work and little play, and Cal, who is the opposite, have an incredible chemistry that explodes when their resolves finally snap.

What makes this story so special is the genuine heartwarming bond that forms between the three of them. Cal’s devotion to Lola shines through in the little things, while Lola steps up in the most beautiful, steady way to be there for Murphy. Murphy, in turn, becomes the biggest, most adorable cheerleader for Cal and Lola’s relationship. Watching Cal learn to be a dad—and failing hilariously at things like keeping a pet fish alive—along with his determination to show Lola she’s much more than just a fling, makes this a swoony, feel-good single-dad romance. This story delivers fantastic banter, found family vibes, and a beautiful relationship that left me smiling. I instantly fell in love with these two once they stopped denying their attraction and will definitely be recommending this series.
