My Thoughts
Sand Dollars, Secrets & Starting Over by Bailey Thomas is a sweet and wholesome story that serves as a heartfelt finale to the A Love in Destiny series. Beautifully narrated by Grace Grant and Christian Black. It carries a beautiful message about allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, brave, and open to new opportunities, even after life delivers painful setbacks.
After going through a sad and stressful period in her personal and love life—culminating in the betrayal of her ex-boyfriend stealing her money—Ramona Fritz realizes she desperately needs a fresh start. With the help of her wonderful friend Laney, Ram lets fate take control when a thrown dart leads her to Destiny, Florida. She packs her truck and heads for the small beachside town, finding the new beginning she longed for.
There, Ram meets Brock Pierson, who is a few years into rebuilding his life after a personal tragedy, having paid the price for his past but unable to find absolution. Brock’s devastating backstory made me genuinely root for him; his journey from guilt to self-worth is beautifully executed, especially the moment he finally stands up for himself.
Ramona and Brock quickly become important to each other, though their pasts—shadowed by betrayal and secrets—make them hesitant to embrace the possibility of something more.
