I currently live in Colorado where I watch way too many rom coms, chase my three boys up the mountains (huffing and puffing), and write books for lovely readers like you.
My Thoughts
Hello Handsome, written by Kelsie Hoss and narrated by Allyson Voller and Luke Welland, is a sweet, heartfelt small-town romance that instantly drew me in. This is the beautiful story of Aggie and Gray, two individuals who have patiently put their families first and now finally have a chance at a long-awaited love. Gray, a silver fox cowboy, dedicated his life to raising five boys after becoming a widower two decades ago. Aggie, a shy, curvy waitress and single mom, promised herself that her children would always be her priority.
Though he knew he shouldn't date a woman twenty years younger, Gray's only reprieve was his daily trips to the diner to see Aggie, the only person who could make him smile. Aggie, in turn, looked forward to seeing the "hot older cowboy" who treated her like she was valuable, even showing up over the years to change her tires or bring soup when her kids were sick. They have always been in each other's orbit, and now that all their children are grown—a shift catalyzed by her son's graduation—Aggie is ready to focus on herself, and Gray is finally ready to move on. They are giving their deep friendship a chance to become something more, but they must first overcome the question of whether the past and two decades of history will get in the way of their happiness.
I absolutely loved the palpable chemistry and tension between Aggie and Gray; they were so supportive of each other and always showed up when needed. Kelsie Hoss handles Gray's lingering grief expertly, making his emotional journey deeply felt, while Aggie's arc of learning to center herself after her children left the nest was wonderfully relatable. The storyline, the banter, the character development, and Gray’s loving relationship with his kids were all perfect.
The narrators, Allyson Voller and Luke Welland, added another layer of depth to the already wonderful writing, doing a fabulous job of portraying the characters' complex emotions. If you love an emotional romance about two deserving people who need to believe in a chance to be loved in return, this is a perfect read.
