Except, I didn’t get that memo. I spit in the dark prince’s face.
Now, he wants to break me.
My plan involves a prestigious university, law school, and a golden future.
Ilya’s involves grinding me under his heel until I bend to his will. The harder I fight him, the deeper his claws sink.
The more I tell myself I hate him, the harder it is to resist him.

And pretty soon, he might just devour me whole.

About Jagger Cole
A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.
Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.
When not writing or reading romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside—rain or shine.

My Thoughts
I could not put down Savage Heir by Jagger Cole, a story featuring intense angst, romance, and witty banter, and narrated brilliantly by the dynamic duo of Aaron Shedlock and Auri Alden! This is the first in the Savage Heirs series, and it's oh-so-good, instantly pulling you into the viper's nest of Oxford Hills Academy to meet the Savage Heirs of Bratva kings and oligarchs.
The story revolves around Tenley, a highly organized person with a meticulously planned life centered around a prestigious university, law school, and a golden future. All her careful plans are disrupted when she tastes the forbidden fruit and encounters the terrifyingly compelling Bratva prince, Ilya Volkov. They call him The Wolf—ruthless heir to the most brutal crime family in the world, a tattooed, green-eyed devil, and a seductive psychopath who leaves a path of destruction in his wake.
To know Ilya is to fear him, and to defy him is lethal. Except, Tenley didn't get that memo, and she spits in the dark prince’s face. Now, Ilya is determined to break her, his plan involving grinding her under his heel until she bends to his will. The harder she fights him, the deeper his claws sink, and the more she tells herself she hates him, the harder it is to resist him. Ilya himself is trying to clean up his act this year and stay true to himself, but Tenley is captivating and unlike anyone he's encountered before—she doesn't give in to him and constantly pushes back. The question is: Will he be able to keep his promise to change while also pursuing his desires?
I absolutely love how Tenley and Ilya interact with one another, despite the daunting obstacles they face. Their story is hot, steamy, and built on a foundation of mutual respect that grows throughout the narrative. While I started the world with a later book, Deviant Hearts, and found the pacing here a bit slower getting to the spicy scenes, the plot was great and worth the wait. The way the author pulls you into this world and introduces other characters is fantastic, and you just want to get lost in it. I'm already planning to go back and read The Bratva's Claim series, which started this whole world.
The narration was so good—Aaron Shedlock and Auri Alden kept me captivated by breathing life into the author's words and the intense characters. This standalone, extra angsty Bratva academy romance leaves your kindle steaming, and it delivers on its promise with absolutely no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happy ever after. I am truly looking forward to the next books in this series!
