My Thoughts

In The Dom Who Loved Me by Lexi Blake, narrated by Ryan West, a routine mission spirals into a dangerous seduction. Sean Taggart, a spy and Dominant, is on the hunt for a deadly terrorist. His only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne, the executive assistant for an employment agency he suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he needs to get close to Grace, a task he's all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature.

Grace, a widowed mother of two, has always been intrigued by the BDSM lifestyle but has never explored it. Meeting Sean turns her world upside down. By day, she's an ordinary woman keeping her life in order. By night, she's living out her wildest fantasies, submitting to Sean's every dark desire and engaging in intimate acts of trust she's only read about. The story masterfully intertwines the suspenseful plot with the erotic elements, as the sex and BDSM become an integral part of the narrative rather than an aside.

Grace is a relatable and strong character—she isn't a kick-ass demon hunter, but a woman with a normal body and a fierce backbone. She's open to exploring her desires and has the confidence to know her own choices. Sean, while a very hot and alpha male, isn't defined by his authority. His power comes from an inner confidence and his willingness to take charge. He has his own vulnerabilities and makes mistakes, but he always "mans up" to them.

The plot is engaging and full of twists and tension. Just as their passion deepens, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. He is left with a choice: pursue his mission and break her heart, or become the Master of her dreams?

The book has been praised for its fantastic writing, strong and believable characters, humor, and hot, wicked erotic BDSM scenes. It's a gripping romantic suspense novel with elements of erotica that will keep you captivated from start to finish. Fans of Lexi Blake will find this a worthwhile read, as it's an intoxicating story that will leave you eager for the next book in the Masters and Mercenaries series.
