Book Description

My name is Tanner Simpson and I'm gonna be a father.

I never intended for it to happen, but one thing led to another and now Millie Robinson and I are connected for life.

I have no problem with this as she’s the woman of my dreams and her being the future mother of my child is the icing on the cake.

There's just one small snag.

She can't stand me.

Shocking, I know, but nevertheless a problem I must solve, preferably before the baby arrives.

So when she needs a new place to live, an opportunity presents itself for Millie to become my neighbor.

When I'm not on the road fighting for a spot in the post season, I'm with Millie morning, noon and night. She wants ice-cream, I’m getting it. Chocolate brownies, no problem.

Navigating impending fatherhood is nothing compared to convincing Millie to take a chance on me. On Us.

She’s been my Home Run since the first day I laid eyes on her.

Now I need to prove to her I'm as lovable as everyone says I am, and the one she needs around forever.

About Lulu Moore

Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.

More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.

She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.

My Thoughts

In Home Run by Lulu Moore, narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood, baseball player Tanner Simpson finds himself on an unexpected path to fatherhood with the woman he's been obsessed with since the day he met her. The only snag? Millie Robinson can't stand him. But a moment of desperation, a single hookup, and a positive pregnancy test tie them together forever, giving Tanner the opportunity he's been waiting for to prove they are meant to be.

Tanner has been a fan of Millie for a while now. His playful flirtations and golden retriever-like energy are often misunderstood by her as just a part of his charming, player reputation. But after a particularly rough day, she finds herself in his arms, and their explosive chemistry changes everything. Despite the life-altering experience, Millie, scared of being just another woman on Tanner's long list, acts coldly towards him. It isn't long before Millie discovers she's pregnant, and she must face Tanner with her tail between her legs. For Tanner, it's not a disaster; it’s a gift. The man is elated at the chance to show Millie how serious he is about her and their future.

From that moment on, Tanner makes it his mission to be a constant, caring presence in Millie's life. He moves her closer to him, anticipates her every craving, and showers her with thoughtful gestures. While navigating his professional baseball career and impending fatherhood, he works to prove to Millie that he is more than just a fleeting romance. He is the one she needs around forever. For Millie, Tanner's devotion is a lot to process. She's been so used to seeing him as a lovable but annoying pest that his selfless, caring nature catches her completely off guard. The more time they spend together, the more she realizes his sweet energy and acts of service aren't just for show; they are his genuine love language. He is a man who knows what he wants and is willing to wait for it.

The story is a new favorite in the surprise pregnancy genre, blending a heartfelt romance with hilarious banter. The love language of care and selfless acts shown by Tanner will make you fall in love with him. He's the ultimate green-flag man, and his devotion to Millie will warm your heart. The excellent narration by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood brings these characters and their emotions to life. The narrators do a fantastic job of portraying Tanner's adorable obsession and Millie's evolving feelings, making this a truly memorable listen.
