Striking by Bella Matthews, narrated by the brilliant duo of Stephanie Cannon and Will Thorne, is a low-angst, high-heat, accidental-marriage romance that will leave you absolutely breathless. As the stunning finale to the Red Lips & White Lies series, this book perfectly wraps up the story with swoon-worthy moments, spicy scenes, and a whole lot of heart.
The story begins with Bellamy, a nurse taking a much-needed break from exam stress, who finds herself at a Windsor family vacation home. What was supposed to be a week of solitude turns into an unforgettable encounter with Prince Rhys Windsor—the very same Rhys from the previous books. The chemistry is immediate, the banter is on point, and the tension is absolutely delicious. Bella Matthews expertly crafts a sweet, slow-burn romance that builds to a wild, unexpected night. They wake up married, but with the king's sudden death, their accidental marriage becomes a necessary one.
Now, Bellamy must navigate a world of crowns and cameras with a man she barely knows, but who looks at her like she's his only truth. Rhys, the new king, is a wonderfully sweet hero who is completely smitten with Bellamy. He carries the weight of a kingdom on his shoulders, and she becomes his perfect sounding board—the person who gives him the space to simply be Rhys, not the King of Mornea. Their connection is palpable as they navigate their new lives while trying to keep their secret from destroying a dynasty.
The narration is phenomenal. Stephanie Cannon brings Bellamy to life, and Will Thorne's smooth voice is perfect for Rhys. Their performances bring so much depth to the characters, making their struggles and triumphs feel incredibly real. While this book can be read as a standalone, it's a much richer experience if you start with book one in the series to fully appreciate the journey. This finale is a perfectly wrapped-up bow for our Queen Bee.
