Just finished Whips and Chains by Elle Thorpe, and I'm still reeling! This second installment in the Saint View Murder Squad series is a wild ride from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn, and that cliffhanger at the end left me desperate for the next book.

Book Description

Three…Two…One… The game has just begun.

Shadows crawl across the walls of an abandoned warehouse.
A knife waits on the table. A clock bleeds away the seconds.
Someone isn’t leaving alive.

My only chance of survival lies with the three men searching for me in the dark.

I let my guard down with X, the funny psychopath who has been following me for weeks, claiming I’m his future wife…Until he put his fingers around my throat and the laughter died away. Now he’s convinced he’s going to kill me and I’m not entirely sure he’s wrong.

Whip is the sin I paid for. He was supposed to be a transaction—one night only. Instead, he took my firsts and left me craving seconds neither of us should want.

And Levi… the ex-prisoner who wrote me letters that stole my heart. But love doesn’t protect us from a killer who knows all our secrets.

As sins are exposed and lies unravel, one thing becomes apparent.

The game isn’t over.
And the rules are written in blood.

Whips and Chains is the second book in the Saint View Murder Squad trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone. Start the series with book 1, X’s and O’s. This book contains dark themes that may trigger some readers.

About Elle Thorpe

Elle Thorpe lives on the sunny east coast of Australia, about an hour out of Sydney. When she's not writing stories full of kissing and chemistry, she's a wife, and Mummy to three tiny humans. She's also official ball thrower to one slobbery dog named Rollo. Yes, she named a female dog after a male character on Vikings. Don't judge her. Elle is a complete and utter fangirl at heart, obsessing over The Walking Dead and Outlander to an unhealthy degree. But she wouldn't change a thing.

My Thoughts

Just finished Whips and Chains by Elle Thorpe, and I'm still reeling! This second installment in the Saint View Murder Squad series is a wild ride from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn, and that cliffhanger at the end left me desperate for the next book.

This story picks up right where the first one left off, with Whip, X, and Levi trying to navigate a relationship with Violet. They are all in love with her, and she loves them all, but making a polyamorous relationship work is proving to be a challenge. We get to see the vulnerable sides of these men—X's hilarious feelings of being undeserving, Levi's long-standing love for Violet, and Whip's struggle to be strong enough to love again.

But it's not all hearts and flowers. Someone is trying to kill them. The mystery behind the attacks and threatening letters keeps you guessing the whole way through, and the stakes are higher than ever.

Elle Thorpe is a master of emotional storytelling and cliffhangers. Her writing draws you in and doesn't let go, balancing steamy passion, laugh-out-loud banter, and heart-pounding tension perfectly. And let's not forget the narration! The full cast of narrators—Kelsey Navarro Foster, Sean Crisden, Gregory Salinas, and Theo Sinclair—bring this book to life in a way that is simply brilliant.

If you love a spicy, suspenseful reverse harem romance, this series is a must-read. The emotional depth, the hilarious banter, and the explosive plot make this a book you won't be able to put down.
