Mal is a man shaped by a horrific childhood, dedicated to finding answers and seeking revenge for his family's death. He's a broken man with a ruthless mission until he crosses paths with Freya, a tiny, goth genius who instantly becomes his next obsession. His "look at her and I'll unalive you" energy is strong from the start, and he makes his claim known early on.


Freya is a feisty hacker with a love for all things black. Orphaned and a survivor of the streets, she has finally found a loving family. When she witnesses something that puts her on Mal's radar, she's thrust into a world of danger she's spent her life avoiding.


The chemistry between Mal and Freya is off the charts. Their banter is top-tier, and the tension between them is palpable. Despite both having difficult pasts and a hard time opening up, their fight for their relationship is a beautiful and compelling part of the story. The book is full of mind-blowing plot twists and a lot of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.


I absolutely adored this book and was hooked from the very beginning. Jagger Cole writes the best possessive and obsessed heroes, and Mal is no exception. He's a man who secretly changes his sleep schedule to be in sync with Freya, which is a perfect mix of sweet and swoon-worthy obsession. The narration by Kyo Sija and Will Thorne is brilliant, bringing all the emotions, from happiness to anger, to life.
