Let me start this review by saying 2 things first this book is the first in a series and second it ends on a cliffhanger. With that said let's jump into the review.
Book Description
For the last three hundred years, these are the only things Aden Westcott has known.
But as the world’s most notorious and most feared vampire commander, what do you do when you unexpectedly encounter the love of your life—only she’s human?
Do you cling to the darkness you’ve always known, or do you join the fight for a world where her light has the power to transform a vicious vampire-dominated society and save your undead soul in the process?
Set in a dystopian world five hundred years in the future, where vampires rule and humans are slaves, The BloodStone Legacy is a hauntingly sensual story of forbidden love, heart-wrenching choices, sacrifice, and redemption in a world consumed by darkness.
In a society divided by power and blood, Aden Westcott is a brutal vampire haunted by the memory of a lost love. When he meets Ellie, a human thrall who bears a striking resemblance to his past, she challenges everything he believes and turns his world upside down.
As their lives intertwine and their passion ignites, Aden’s inner turmoil and Ellie’s resilience spark a forbidden bond, unraveling long-buried secrets. Together, they must navigate a treacherous path in a world where darkness and light collide and choices have consequences.

About V.E. Huntley
I’m a retired film producer who has spent my life telling stories in one way or another. Just ask my cats. They had to endure a lifetime of my endlessly reciting entire dialogue scenes to them, even though all they desperately wanted to do was nap.
My childhood fear of Dracula was so intense that I couldn't sleep without the lights on and my mother guarding my bedroom door. Over time, this fear evolved into a lifelong obsession with the dark and sensual world of vampires.
So, after more than two decades in the film and television industry, I ultimately chose to pursue my true passion—writing dark and sexy paranormal romance.

When I was approached to read this book I was honored and rather excited because it had 2 elements I adore romance and vampires. I love a good vampire romance and have read many from the sweet sparkly kind of vampires to the handsome tortured kind who are a hero at heart. What I loved about this book was that our Vampire was morally gray. He walked a line between being a complete a$$ to being super sweet. What made him so hot and hero-worthy was even when he was doing something terrible it was out of love and protection for the woman he loved. We all know as women we are strong and independent but the thought of a man doing anything to protect us is hot.
Anyway, let me get back on track. This story was so refreshing because instead of the vampires being hidden in the shadows it takes place in a dystopian future where vampires rule. Along with our female lead having lived a past life. So we have soul mates thrown in as well with a love that lasts through time.
Our female lead is strong and learns to handle our grumpy and fierce vampire lead rather well. She also learned how to work the system at her old compound before being swept away by our lead male character.
Another thing I loved about this book besides a strong female, a morally gray male, and a completely different twist on how vampires are viewed was the actual story. This story had depth, it had twists and it had a dark secret brewing. All this weaved together made for a book I could not put down.
The author did a fabulous job creating a world I could visualize and that sucked me in. This world she created had depth, darkness, and light. She made me like certain characters and hate others as their turn of nature surfaced. She gave me family, love, friendship, and even enemies that you need to be cautious about.
This book was so well written that it kept me captivated from page one. It took me on a ride that I completely loved and I am so grateful the author shared this book with me. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy romance, vampires, and mystery rolled into one story. this book is well worth your time to read.
