Book Description

I wanted one thing just for me: a hot night with an anonymous masked man. And oh, did I get it.

A shy, reserved woman like me, wearing a gold mask and spending the night with a stranger from a fantasy fulfillment app? Yep, I did that. And it was the perfect escape from the pressure of trying to save my failing company.

Then, Roman Wells—ex-rugby star and new investor in my struggling business—walks into my office. Everyone else loves him: his easy laugh, rugged good looks, and confident charm, but I can barely meet his eyes without turning into a blushing mess.

From our first painfully awkward encounter, things only get worse, with misunderstanding after misunderstanding, until he blindsides me with a ruthless business move that leaves me reeling.

But that’s nothing compared to the positive pregnancy test in my hands. That fantasy night becomes all too real when I find out Roman is my masked man—and the father of my baby.

Roman is determined to be part of this baby’s life—and mine. He won’t back down easily. He wants to make things right, but after the underhanded move he pulled, trusting him isn’t so simple.

He might be winning over my picky cat, personally delivering breakfast to me every morning, and leaving me really cute notes, but how can I believe the man who betrayed me in business will take care of my heart?

About Julia Wolf

Julia Wolf writes sexy rockers, grumpy billionaires, snarky heroines, and bad ass women. She’s a firm believer in happily ever afters, no matter how rocky the road is to get there.

She doesn’t believe in “guilty pleasures”, only pleasure. Reading about a plus size woman who gets absolutely railed by a hot rock star is pleasure. Reading about a damaged college student whose flaws are valued and loved by the grumpy guy next door is pleasure. Reading about love in a small town or big city or on a tour bus is pleasure. Reading romance is pleasure!

Julia lives in Maryland with her husband and three crazy, beautiful children. When she’s not writing romance, she’s reading it. Some of her favorite things are, in no particular order: goats, books, coffee, and Target.

My Thoughts

By the Letter by Julia Wolf, narrated by the talentedAvery Reid and James Cassidy, who brought this emotional and heartfelt romance to life. It had me hooked from the very first page. This accidental pregnancy romance is packed with raw emotion, tender care, and profound love.

The story follows Shira, a shy, reserved widow desperately trying to save her late husband's failing company. Looking for a one-night escape from the pressure, she has a passionate night with a masked stranger. Weeks later, she's shocked to discover she's pregnant. Things get even more complicated when she realizes the father is Roman Wells—ex-rugby star and the new investor who just bought out her company. He's the man who's been nothing but a rude jerk to her and made a ruthless business move to get rid of her.

The first half of the book is messy and full of misunderstandings, keeping you on edge as Roman’s one-sided opinions clash with Shira’s reserved nature. He's completely inconsiderate and frankly a jerk at the beginning, but his immediate groveling and intense efforts to make things right will have you falling in love with him. You will cheer as he works to break down Shira's walls, winning over her heart and even her picky cat with breakfast deliveries and cute notes.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster, balancing heartbreaking moments with sweet, spicy, and tender scenes. The relationship between Shira and Roman is built on a friendship that blossoms as they grow to understand each other. Shira is a unique and refreshing character, and while Roman's initial behavior is frustrating, his growth is incredibly rewarding.

I devoured this book and was so invested in their journey that my heart was pounding during some scenes. By the Letter was the perfect way to start for me, and it solidified Julia Wolf as a new favorite author of mine. I can’t wait to read more from her!
