Chasing Forever by Piper Rayne is a heartwarming, fun romance that had me hooked from the very first page. Narrated by the talented Stephen Dexter and Vanessa Edwin, this book follows a fun Vegas getaway that turns into a wild adventure when the heroine, Lottie, wakes up married to her ex-fiancé’s brother.

Book Description

It was a fun Vegas getaway—until I woke up married to my ex-fiancé’s brother.

After Watson brother #1 ditched me at the altar, I stopped believing in happily-ever-afters. So Ihave no clue how I ended up saying “I do” to Brooks—Watson brother #2—somewhere between tequila shots and bad decisions.

Okay, that may not be true.

Sheriff Watson has been a charming thorn in my side ever since his brother left our small ranch town in his rearview mirror. He’s a little too steady, a little too sweet, and way too intuitive because he sees through my facade. But no matter how tempting he is, he’s still a Watson.

I demand an annulment. He refuses, bargaining four real dates before he signs.

Fine. I’ll sabotage each one and keep my heart safely locked away. It’s easier this way because he has no idea the secret I’m keeping.

Of course, Brooks doesn’t go down easy—he has enough faith for both of us. He tackles my fears at every turn, making me wonder what would happen if I went all in.

But trusting the wrong man once nearly ruined me—doing it again might finish the job.

My Thoughts

Chasing Forever by Piper Rayne is a heartwarming, fun romance that had me hooked from the very first page. Narrated by the talented Stephen Dexter and Vanessa Edwin, this book follows a fun Vegas getaway that turns into a wild adventure when the heroine, Lottie, wakes up married to her ex-fiancé’s brother.

Lottie Owens gave up on happily-ever-afters the day her fiancé left her at the altar. So, when she finds herself married to his brother, Brooks, she's determined to get an annulment. But Brooks, a charming and intuitive sheriff, sees right through her facade. He’s been a constant presence in her life since his brother left, and he refuses to let her go. He proposes a deal: four real dates before he signs the annulment papers. Lottie agrees, secretly plotting to sabotage each date and keep her heart safe.

What she doesn't know is that Brooks has been secretly in love with her for years. He has enough faith for both of them and tackles her fears at every turn. Their chemistry is undeniable, and as they spend time together, Lottie starts to wonder what would happen if she finally let her guard down.

The connection between Brooks and Lottie is simply beautiful. Brooks is the perfect hero—steady, supportive, and endlessly devoted. His long-term, unrequited love for Lottie is a swoon-worthy foundation for their romance. And Lottie is an amazing heroine; she’s resilient, strong, and deserving of a love that’s all her own. Their witty banter and the way they challenge each other make this a truly fantastic read.

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I haven’t read the other books in the series, but Chasing Forever works perfectly as a standalone. The dual narration by Stephen Dexter and Vanessa Edwin is absolutely stellar. Stephen's soothing voice is perfect for the steadfast sheriff, and Vanessa's performance as the high-strung but lovable Lottie is equally brilliant. I loved this book and am so glad I took a chance on it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens with the Watson family next.
