I was excited to read this book. When Alexandra contacted me about reading it I was honored and really enjoyed the book.

Book Description

Amaya Mevson had a plan to get her career back on track… But it didn’t involve fighting draxis or learning she was a descendant of a lineage of magical high priestesses.

It didn’t involve being partnered with an insufferable playboy from Pointedelle.

It didn’t involve fighting social injustices, uncovering government conspiracies, or navigating the deceptive politics of the corporate world.

And it certainly didn’t involve suppressing her power’s compulsion, which demanded she seduce the mysterious foreign ambassador.

And yet.

The only way Amaya can ascend from the shadows of self-doubt is to learn to harness her inner strength and powers.

My Thoughts

I admit this book drew me in from page one. I love watching Amaya grow and find her inner strength.

This book is full of intrigue and twists. Plus the world Alexandra created is so captivating.

I also liked that Alexandra stayed true to how things like anxiety, Depression, and panic attacks truly feel. As a parent to a child who lives with depression, I was very cautious about how the author would dedicate this, and am happy with how she wrote it.

This book is action-packed and moves quickly which I loved it kept me turning the pages. I was a little taken aback by the cliffhanger but totally understand the author was setting us up for book 2.

Overall, this book is wonderful. The world created is amazing, the characters are ones I want to know more about and the romance was spot on. I highly recommend this book and I'm excited to read the next installment.
