Book Description
“In your dreams, Baby Hall.”
Older. Hotter. And way out of my league, Hannah Prescott has been my obsession since the moment she uttered those five simple words.
She thinks she’ll deter me by her dismissive attitude but her words only spur me on. I love a challenge and since Hannah is my literal dream girl, she’s worth putting in a bit of work.
Up until now everything in my life has come easy: hockey, women, friendships. Then Noah Harrison is traded to our team and my spot on the first line with my best friends is at risk. Suddenly Hannah is wearing his jersey and I realize I’ve got to act fast or risk losing my shot forever.
Fortunately for me, dreams do come true because though she only offers me one night, fate has other plans. She may have said she’ll never call me Daddy Hall, but the positive pregnancy test in her hand makes that impossible.
With my every dream within reach, I need to find a way to prove to Hannah that she’s the one for me and I’m so much more than a playboy.
About Brittanee Nicole
Brittanee is an author who lives in New England with her husband and two children. Her town is a character in itself in all of her books. When she is not writing she enjoys spending time outdoors by the water with her children, reading at the beach or by the pool (or really anywhere), dancing with her friends, singing Karaoke, spinning, bike riding and boating.
My Thoughts
Playboy by Brittanee Nicole, brought to life through the fantastic narration of Vanessa Edwin and Sean Masters, is a masterful addition to the Boston Bolts series that feels like pure perfection. Fans of this world will be thrilled that we don’t have to leave the Bolts behind just yet, and getting to finally dive into Daniel "Baby" Hall’s story is a treat that fans have been anticipating for a long time. Having glimpsed these characters throughout previous books, it is incredibly rewarding to finally step inside their heads and understand the true depth of their emotions.
The chemistry between Daniel and Hannah is electric, fueled by a delicious, lingering tension that crackles off the page. Daniel, a talented hockey player often unfairly branded by a playboy reputation, has been obsessed with Hannah since the moment they met. Watching him pursue his dream girl while navigating a professional shake-up—with a new teammate threatening his spot on the first line—adds an engaging layer of stakes to their budding romance. Hannah, meanwhile, is an independent, hardworking woman with a guarded heart, making their journey toward trust both poignant and satisfying.
The narrative perfectly balances the fun, flirty banter of this tight-knit friend group—including their hilarious text exchanges—with the more serious, emotional beats of the story. The accidental pregnancy trope serves as a catalyst for growth, and it is genuinely heartwarming to see Daniel transition from a perceived playboy into a man who is thrilled about the prospect of fatherhood and deeply devoted to worshipping Hannah. Their relationship is a beautiful example of a reverse age-gap romance done right, as Daniel becomes the rock Hannah needs to finally feel secure in love.
Beyond the central romance, the story offers a touching look at family dynamics. While the love and support Hannah receives from her brothers and father is beautiful, the narrative also handles the pain of her strained relationship with her mother with great sensitivity. It is this combination of sweet, spicy, and deeply emotional moments that makes this book a five-star read. Even if the accidental pregnancy trope isn't usually your go-to, the depth of characterization and the strength of the bond between Daniel and Hannah make this an absolute must-read. If you have been following the Bolts and the Langfield world, run—don't walk—to this one.
