Enticed is my first book by Ashley Cade, and she officially has my attention—her writing is brilliant, and this small-town cowboy romance completely captured my heart. The story pulls you in immediately with a fantastic forbidden age-gap, dad’s best friend dynamic that keeps you hooked from the very first page. Gabe is back in his hometown to help out on the ranch after a difficult divorce, and the last person he expects to run into at the local bar is his best friend’s daughter. It was wonderful how the story established early on just how long it had been since they last saw each other; Jasmine is now twenty-one and no longer the little girl he recalls, and Gabe doesn’t even recognize the spirited, determined young woman she has grown into.

About Ashley Cade
Ashley is a USA Today Bestselling author who likes her small town romance extra spicy with a touch of angst, and a splash of humor. Her swoon worthy heroes will melt your kindles (along with your undergarments). She resides in Ohio with her husband and two sons where she pens emotionally gripping love stories about imperfect people who find their happily ever after.
My Thoughts
Enticed is my first book by Ashley Cade, and she officially has my attention—her writing is brilliant, and this small-town cowboy romance completely captured my heart. The story pulls you in immediately with a fantastic forbidden age-gap, dad’s best friend dynamic that keeps you hooked from the very first page. What makes this book truly amazing beyond the central romance is the authentic family dynamics. The relationships add so much depth to the story, from the protective tension of a secret romance to the delightfully spunky grandmother, who provided some of my favorite moments. The impending dread of what will happen when Jasmine’s father finds out in the worst way possible keeps the pages turning, though it does make you wonder how much longer they would have waited to tell her family on their own. Ultimately, watching their relationship develop and grow into a beautiful happy ending was incredibly satisfying. There wasn't a single thing I didn't love about this standalone book, and I highly recommend listening to the playlist while reading to add a wonderful layer of nostalgia to the experience. It is an absolute must-read for fans of cowboy romance and top-tier age-gap tropes, and I can't wait to see what Ashley Cade delivers next.
