Book Description

At Eden University, where prestige and power reign, Eve Mason does her best to go unnoticed by the elites. A scholarship student with a haunting past, she keeps to herself, always in the background. Unfortunately, Eve's quiet world shatters the moment she inadvertently crosses paths with a dark stranger. This brooding, enigmatic figure has secrets and demons of his own and Eve knows she should stay as far removed from his dark depths as she can.

This stranger rules in the world of privilege, but he’s drawn to Eve in ways that even he can’t explain. Beneath his cold exterior lies a man with a history far darker than anyone could imagine, and he recognizes the same inky darkness in Eve.

As their mysterious attraction grows, so does the tension. Dark pasts, long held bonds, and evil intent collide when everyone seems to have something to hide. Eve's tenuous relationship spirals into something both thrilling and toxic as they find themselves caught in a game far more dangerous than either anticipated.

But in a place where everyone has a dark side and no one can be trusted, can Eve and the stranger figure out who the real villains are? Or will their own pasts destroy them before they can unravel the truth?

My Thoughts

In Of Flesh & Bone, Eve Moore delivers an intense, super spicy dark college romance that grips you from the very first page. Set against the prestigious backdrop of Eden University—where privilege masks deep-seated rot—the story follows Eve Mason, a scholarship student living on the fringes with a haunting past she desperately tries to keep hidden.

Her quiet world shatters when she collides with Adam Davenport, a brooding and dangerous man who recognizes the same inky darkness in Eve that he carries within himself. Their connection is immediate, obsessive, and beautifully codependent; I was absolutely feral for the way their "fated mates" energy played out through the names Adam and Eve.

The plot is much more than just the high-heat spice, though there is plenty of that to enjoy. It is a thrilling game of cat and mouse where no one can be trusted, balanced by entertaining banter and a fantastic found family dynamic. Eve is a standout protagonist—a morally grey FMC who has survived trauma and comes out fighting with the best quips, proving she’s just as formidable as her fiercely protective, "touch her and die" counterpart.

The suspense kept me on edge, and the twists were genuinely insane; I truly didn't see the biggest reveals coming. The audiobook experience is a total standout and, in my opinion, the absolute best way to consume this story. Narrated in a flawless duet style, Dani Soleil and James Dalton perfectly embody these characters.

Dani beautifully captures Eve’s internal struggle and resilience, while James delivers a controlled, chilling performance that adds incredible depth to Adam’s darkness. Even though these narrators were new to me, they crushed this performance and kept me fully immersed. This was a gripping, unputdownable listen, and I am officially a fan of Eve Moore—I can’t wait to see if the side characters get their own stories next.
