Dash by Kayley Loring and Connor Crais is a sweet, saucy, and utterly delightful accidental pregnancy sports romance that keeps you cheering from start to finish. As the second book in the Boston Tomcats series, it brilliantly brings together number ninety-nine, Dash Taylor—a two-hundred-and-eighty-five-pound rookie defensive end—and Charlie Bardot, a sophisticated, petite, but fiercely determined ballerina.

Book Description

#99 Dash Taylor. Rookie defensive end for the Boston Tomcats. 285 pounds of fast-twitch muscle. Nickname: Big D

This tiny dancer doesn’t think I’m boyfriend material. I used to think that too. I’ve been a beast on the field and in the bedroom, but now I’m going to prove that I can be a man for her…and for our surprise baby…

See, I had a bad attitude my whole life and that’s why my college coach sent me to take ballet lessons as punishment. The real punishment? Being taught to pliĆ© by a beautiful ballerina who refused to date me. Two years later, when we’re both professionals, I get a second chance to show her what Big D’s all about.

I thought I’d sack her by being the guy who can make his pecs dance to the beat of any song. But it isn't the other team’s offensive line who brings me to my knees, it’s a sophisticated hundred-pound ballerina. She sets me straight like no one else ever could.

I thought I was all about the smash and dash.
But getting Charlie Bardot pregnant changed everything.

About Kayley Loring and Connor Crais

Kayley Loring - Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.

Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!

Listen to Kayley talk to the wildly talented narrators who narrate her audiobooks and her wildly talented author friends on the Multiple Eargasms with Kayley Loring podcast!

Connor Crais - Connor Crais is an Audie Award-winning classically trained actor living in the Midwest with his wife and three young kids. He has been both a stage and television actor, and before plunging into the romance genre, he had been narrating commercials, audiobooks, and explainers for well over a decade from his home studio. From alphas to bosses to cocky sports stars (a particular favorite), he loves sparring with beautiful, sassy heroines (and their talented narrators) but also loves winning them over and reaching that happily ever after. He is excited to now be an Amazon Top 100 bestselling author.

My Thoughts

Dash by Kayley Loring and Connor Crais is a sweet, saucy, and utterly delightful accidental pregnancy sports romance that keeps you cheering from start to finish. As the second book in the Boston Tomcats series, it brilliantly brings together number ninety-nine, Dash Taylor—a two-hundred-and-eighty-five-pound rookie defensive end—and Charlie Bardot, a sophisticated, petite, but fiercely determined ballerina.

At first glance, the striking physical contrast and clashing personalities hint at a classic opposites-attract story. Their journey began years prior when Dash was sent to ballet lessons as a punishment by his college coach, only to be taught to pliƩ by a beautiful dancer who refused to date him. Two years later, both are professionals living out their respective dreams when they get a second chance to see what "Big D" is really all about.

While their blazing-hot chemistry absolutely burns up the pages, digging deeper reveals that these two ambitiously driven characters actually share a profound emotional connection. The story expertly handles a timeline that features a little time-hopping, beautifully overlapping with scenes from book one, Decker. While it can absolutely be read as a standalone, fans of the series will love seeing those puzzle pieces click together.

What truly sets this book apart is Dash's phenomenal character arc. He evolves from a brute who thinks he's only about the "smash and dash" into a man completely dedicated to proving he is boyfriend and daddy material, all without sacrificing his charismatic, witty, and fiercely entertaining personality. The narrative also beautifully explores the idea that it is entirely okay for your lifelong dreams to change, adding a layer of highly relatable realism to the romance.

The story is packed to the brim with entertaining elements, including hilarious text exchanges, Dirty Dancing references, a highly entertaining pec-dancing talent, and craving-fueled pregnancy hormones, all culminating in a heart-melting happy-ever-after.

The audiobook production takes the enjoyment to another level with a flawless duet-style narration by Connor Crais and Emma Wilder. Their incredible vocal performances make the characters feel entirely real, masterfully guiding listeners through moments that will make you laugh, tear up, and smile with absolute hearts in your eyes. Adding to this audio delight are the supporting cast of voices of Mackenzie Cartwright and Evan Parker. It is a must-listen romance that proves life's unexpected surprises are often the absolute best ones.
