Book Description
Suddenly, my world revolves around Charlotte: snuggling, changing diapers, preparing bottles. I’m running on little to no sleep and can barely focus. So when I space out during Piper’s pitch, she assumes I’m hungover. Given my reputation, I can’t blame her—but it still annoys me. So even though her pitch was great, I kick her out of my office. I don’t need complications. Especially not one as attractive as Piper.
However, gossip travels fast in the French Quarter. When Piper discovers the truth behind my exhaustion and apologizes, I give her a second chance. I invite her to my penthouse to redo the pitch…except I’m far more focused on her cleavage, her smile, and the way she instantly connects with my daughter.
I shouldn’t want Piper. I can’t afford distractions. But the more time I spend with her, the harder it is to remember that she is off limits.

My Thoughts
I have mixed feelings finishing The Single Dad, the sixth and final book in Layla Hagen’s phenomenal LeBlanc Brothers series. While I am so happy for Beckett and Piper, it is truly bittersweet to say goodbye to this family. Narrated flawlessly by Dane Anderson and Rose Dioro, this surprise-baby, workplace romance is a heartfelt and addictive page-turner that serves as the perfect farewell to the series.
Beckett LeBlanc starts the novel as the last single brother, known throughout New Orleans as a successful CEO with a massive reputation as a party guy. His world is turned upside down when a one-night stand drops his newborn daughter, Charlotte, on his doorstep. Suddenly, the man-whore lifestyle is replaced by snuggling, diapers, and midnight bottles. Running on zero sleep, Beckett is barely functioning when he meets Piper Dawson, a hardworking marketing rep who has been desperate to pitch him a new commercial idea.
Their first meeting is a disaster; Beckett spaces out during her presentation, and Piper, assuming his exhaustion is due to his playboy lifestyle, leaves in a huff. However, once she discovers the truth behind his fatigue and offers a sincere apology, Beckett gives her a second chance. As they begin working together on the marketing campaign, the professional lines quickly blur. Beckett is captivated not only by Piper’s intelligence and drive but by the natural way she connects with his daughter.
The chemistry between them is electric, filled with witty banter and undeniable heat. Watching Beckett transform from a "total man-whore" into a devoted father is incredibly moving, and Piper is the perfect strong heroine to balance his new reality. The story is enriched by the wonderful LeBlanc family dynamics, from the brothers' hilarious group chat to the meddling grandmothers, Isabeau and Celine, who even find a way to incorporate their signature lilac scent into Piper’s personalized fragrance.
The plot is a beautiful blend of humor, emotion, and redemption. I loved the poignant moments as Beckett and Piper share their pasts and work through the challenges of their evolving relationship. The first epilogue provides a stunning conclusion to their romance, but it is the second epilogue—set five years later at Christmas—that truly stole my heart. Catching up with all the brothers, their partners, and the growing brood of LeBlanc babies was the consummate ending to an incredible series.
Layla Hagen has once again proven she is a master storyteller, creating memorable characters that feel like real friends. While I am sad to leave the French Quarter behind, The Single Dad is a sweet, spicy, and soul-satisfying hit that I cannot recommend highly enough.
