My Destiny by Samantha Skye is a stunning addition to the Men of New York series that will leave you with a sappy smile and a few heartfelt tears. The story follows Annie—affectionately nicknamed "Little Red"—who arrives in New York knowing her life has a "use-by date." Having befriended acceptance regarding her own fate long ago, she lives purely in the moment. When she accidentally gets caught in the crossfire of a mob conflict, she is saved by Dante Luciano, the jaded second-in-command to the New York Syndicate.
Book Description
My life has a use-by date.
But Dante Luciano can use me all he likes...
But my childhood was a masterclass in “life ain’t meant to be easy”, so I befriended acceptance a long time ago.
It’s part of the reason I can seize the moment, escape the inescapable (for now)...jump on a plane to New York and know the only way I’m coming back is in a box.
I should have been terrified when I got caught in the crossfire of the Mob, but when Dante threw his body in front of me, I felt alive for all the right reasons.
Slipping into his life (and his bed sheets) is as easy as breathing.
But Dante hates liars.
So he’s going to hate me.

My Thoughts
My Destiny by Samantha Skye is a stunning addition to the Men of New York series that will leave you with a sappy smile and a few heartfelt tears. The story follows Annie—affectionately nicknamed "Little Red"—who arrives in New York knowing her life has a "use-by date." Having befriended acceptance regarding her own fate long ago, she lives purely in the moment. When she accidentally gets caught in the crossfire of a mob conflict, she is saved by Dante Luciano, the jaded second-in-command to the New York Syndicate.
Dante is a single father who has been hardened by past betrayals, making him a man who prizes honesty above all else and treats outsiders with deep suspicion. However, the moment he throws his body in front of Annie to protect her, a possessive and protective instinct takes hold. As Annie recovers under his roof, she begins to weave herself into the daily lives of both Dante and his young son, Leo. Her caretaking nature acts as a balm for them both, and the heartwarming bond she develops with Leo is easily one of the sweetest elements of the story.
The romance is a masterful slow burn, filled with palpable angst as Dante fights his growing desire for the siren who has invaded his home. Annie is exactly what Dante needs; she brings life back into his silent house, teaching him how to feel alive for all the right reasons. Despite the ease with which she slips into his heart and his sheets, a looming sense of dread remains. Annie is keeping secrets about her past and her future, and in Dante’s world, a lie is the ultimate betrayal.
When the inevitable collision between Dante’s hatred of liars and Annie’s hidden truth occurs, the emotional impact is profound. The story shifts beautifully as Annie takes on the role of protector, showing Dante the true meaning of unconditional love. It is an action-packed, high-stakes journey that balances the grit of the mafia world with intense "feels." Samantha Skye has crafted an incredibly empowering and moving story of healing that makes her a "one-click" author for any romance fan. I am so happy these two got the ending they deserved, and I cannot wait to dive into Carter’s story next.
