Amy Daws has truly outdone herself with One Moment Please, delivering what is easily my favorite installment of the Wait With Me series. Narrated with absolute magic by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon, this story is a masterclass in the "enemies-to-lovers" trope. It evolves from a fun, high-tension comedy into a deeply emotive journey that left me in a total mess of tears by the end.Book Description
That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.
Three things Dr. Josh Richardson knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Josh's house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
The doctor is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

My Thoughts
Amy Daws has truly outdone herself with One Moment Please, delivering what is easily my favorite installment of the Wait With Me series. Narrated with absolute magic by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon, this story is a masterclass in the "enemies-to-lovers" trope. It evolves from a fun, high-tension comedy into a deeply emotive journey that left me in a total mess of tears by the end.
The story kicks off with an unforgettable disaster: Lynsey Jones, a quirky and irresistible heroine, ends up in the ER after a Tinder date from hell. There, she is informed by the arrogant Dr. Josh Richardson—affectionately known as "Dr. Dick"—that she is pregnant with his baby.
Their history is brief but chaotic, fueled by a chance encounter involving a fistful of French silk pie and a heated cab ride that led them straight to the bedroom. While Josh starts the novel as a grouchy jerk who is fiercely guarded about his past, Amy Daws brilliantly uses dual POVs to peel back his layers.
The moment we step into Josh's mind, it becomes clear that his cold exterior hides a deep-seated pain. This makes his eventual growth and vulnerability feel earned and incredibly moving. Lynsey is the perfect foil to his rigidity; she is likable, fun, and handles her unexpected reality with an inspiring level of grace.
Watching Lynsey grow while simultaneously breaking down Josh's walls creates a magnetic chemistry that is a literal fire hazard. Daws balances the sassy, saucy humor the series is known for with a well-crafted, poignant plot that makes you value the "little things."
By the time the final page turns, the argumentative bickering has transformed into one of the most passionate and heart-wrenching love affairs I’ve read in a long time. It is a crisp, perfection-filled hit that proves love always finds a way—even in the most awkward of ER rooms.
