If I could rate On the Brink of Bliss a billion stars, I would. A.L. Jackson has delivered the soul-stirring conclusion I’ve been waiting for since the Moonlit Ridge series began, finally giving the brooding, morally gray Cash the happily-ever-after he deserves. Having stolen my heart from his very first introduction, Cash is everything I hoped for and more—a protective recluse whose commanding, gruff exterior hides a sweetness that leaves you absolutely melting.
Book Description
The last thing I expected when I found a trespasser bathing in my river was for it to be her…
I became a recluse for a reason, though. The life I chose is full of wickedness and peril. The last thing I need is the object of my every fantasy invading my space and risking her life because of me. But that single kiss at the altar rips through every barrier, our passion unleashed.
Now, living under the same roof blurs the lines I’ve drawn. Each glance of her down the hall and I am splintering. Each brush of her hand and I’m brought to my knees. Our future―bright, hopeful, and almost within reach―hovers on the edge of becoming real.
Until we discover the threat surrounding her is grimmer than either of us imagined. Now I’m fighting to save her and her children before our second chance at forever is burned to the ground…

My Thoughts
If I could rate On the Brink of Bliss a billion stars, I would. A.L. Jackson has delivered the soul-stirring conclusion I’ve been waiting for since the Moonlit Ridge series began, finally giving the brooding, morally gray Cash the happily-ever-after he deserves. Having stolen my heart from his very first introduction, Cash is everything I hoped for and more—a protective recluse whose commanding, gruff exterior hides a sweetness that leaves you absolutely melting.
The chemistry between Cash and Daisy Adair is a force of nature, radiating "soulmate vibes" that transcend space and time. Their history as childhood best friends adds a profound layer of intimacy to their reunion, making every interaction feel heavy with the weight of years lost. Daisy is a remarkably resilient heroine; as a single mother on the run, her fierce devotion to her three children shapes every decision she makes. Watching Cash instinctively step into the role of protector and father figure—embracing not just Daisy, but her entire family—is nothing short of heart-wrenching and beautiful.
This marriage-of-convenience and second-chance romance is perfectly balanced by a high-stakes suspense thread that keeps the pacing tight and the tension high. The looming threat from Daisy's past ensures their moments of happiness feel fragile and hard-earned, while the forced proximity of living under one roof turns every accidental touch into a detonator for years of buried longing.
The audio experience elevates the emotional devastation to another level. Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters are a powerhouse duo, delivering a dual narration that "slays" in every sense. Sean’s deep, authoritative voice is the perfect embodiment of Cash, while Samantha captures Daisy’s guarded vulnerability with stunning authenticity. Her ability to voice the male characters during her chapters is particularly impressive, keeping the listener fully immersed. While I am heartbroken to leave the atmosphere of Moonlit Ridge, this story is a powerful reminder that something beautiful can be built even from the most broken pieces. It is a passionate, suspenseful, and emotionally rich journey that I won't soon forget.
