Holidate Pursuit by Bethany Rosa, brought to life by the excellent narration of Ava Erickson and Mason Lloyd, is a charming, fast-paced holiday romance novella that is an absolute must-read for the festive season. This delightful story focuses on Lucy and Justin, supporting characters from the first book in the Pursuit series, making it a wonderful chance to catch up with familiar faces.

The narrative kicks off when Lucy, determined to avoid awkward family questions, needs someone to stand in as her fake fiancé for the holidays. Who should show up months after ghosting her following the best night of her life? None other than Justin. What begins as a playful arrangement—a "holidate" involving one week and one bed—quickly turns into something much deeper. Justin, who disappeared for reasons he immediately regretted, sees this as his shot at redemption, and thankfully, he's not smart enough to say no to the opportunity.

The chemistry between Lucy and Justin is immediate, natural, and absolutely fire, making the steamy scenes even better due to the intense tension between them. Bethany Rosa masterfully balances a compelling storyline with spicy scenes without ever becoming gratuitous. The witty dialogue and playful banter keep the story lively and provide plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, while the tender scenes lend genuine emotional depth to their journey from pretend partners to true lovers.

The author’s style is an easy, enjoyable read that captures your attention quickly. This novella, which starts sequentially at the end of Pursuit of Innocence and even ties in characters leading into Dangerous Pursuit, is a quick, perfect book break. It successfully delivers a fun, steamy romance filled with humor, heart, and holiday magic, reminding us that sometimes the best second chances arrive wrapped up in Christmas paper. Holidate Pursuit ended exactly how I wished it would and is highly recommended. If you're looking to add a fantastic series to your TBR, start with Pursuit of Innocence first—you won't be disappointed.
