Love You More by Stacy Travis, and brilliantly narrated by Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue, is an utterly charming contemporary romance that I absolutely loved! This was my first book by the author, and I instantly fell for the main characters, Ruby and Jackson.

Book Description

Jackson Corbett is a gorgeous single dad who doesn’t want complications at his family winery. And I’m the messy tornado who just offered to be his new nanny.

When I show up for a job interview in my pajamas and at the wrong time, my interviewer isn’t there, but Jackson is. He scowls and tells me to take a hike, insisting I don’t really want to work in the tasting room at Buttercup Hill Vineyards.

But I do. Years of sommelier courses and amateur wine-making have landed me here, at the best winery in Napa Valley. I can see that he’s overworked and stretched thin with parenting and a stressful job. So I make a deal with him—if I’m hired by the winery, I’ll work a second job as his nanny.

I can endure the world’s grouchiest dad and entertain his feisty seven-year-old if it means career advancement and paying off my debts.

There’s no risk of romantic entanglement because Jackson is a grade-A grump—albeit a hot and chiseled one—who’s been burned by love. The weight of the world sits on his muscular shoulders, and he spends most of his time worrying about the vineyard’s finances and looking at spreadsheets.

The last thing I’m concerned about is how he looks at me.

Until he does.

I catch him sneaking glances, and I can’t help staring right back. And noticing how sweet he is with his daughter, how his chilly façade is starting to melt, how he lingers longer than necessary when I’m around.

I find myself wanting to help him even if it means spending more time away from my younger sister, right when she needs me most. I’m terrified of letting down the only real family I have.

Falling for him could ruin my carefully-wrought plans and I love my status quo.

But what if I love him more?

Love You More is a standalone contemporary romance with a HEA

About Stacy Travis

Stacy Travis writes charming, spicy romance about bookish, sassy women and the hot alphas who fall for them.

Writing makes her infinitely happy, but that might be the coffee talking. She drinks a LOT of it.

She's worked as a journalist, camp counselor, TV writer, SAT tutor, corporate finance researcher, education technology editor, and non-fiction author. When she's not on a deadline, she's in running shoes complaining that all roads seem to go uphill. Or on the couch with a margarita. Or fangirling at a soccer game.

She's never met a dog she didn't want to hug. And if you have no plans for Thanksgiving, she'll probably invite you to dinner.

Stacy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two sons, and a poorly-trained rescue dog who hoards socks. And she's serious about the Thanksgiving thing.

My Thoughts

Love You More by Stacy Travis, and brilliantly narrated by Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue, is an utterly charming contemporary romance that I absolutely loved! This was my first book by the author, and I instantly fell for the main characters, Ruby and Jackson.

The story centers on Jackson Corbett, a gorgeous single dad who, along with his siblings, runs his family's struggling vineyard, Buttercup Hill, in Napa. Jackson is overworked, stretched thin, and determined to avoid any personal complications. In steps Ruby, a messy tornado of a woman with a meticulously planned career path in the wine industry, who is also desperately in need of a job.

Their initial meeting is hilariously awkward: Ruby shows up in her pajamas at the wrong time for a tasting room interview, only to be interviewed by Jackson, the vineyard's grumpiest—albeit hot and chiseled—boss. Though he initially scowls and tells her to take a hike, Ruby’s sommelier training and passion win him over. Seeing that Jackson is overworked and stressed, Ruby makes a deal: she will work a second job as his daughter's nanny, Fiona, alongside her duties in the tasting room.

This setup creates a delightful single-dad/nanny dynamic. The connection between Ruby and seven-year-old Fiona is instantly sweet, which only intensifies Jackson's growing adoration and attraction to Ruby. I loved Ruby's character; she is funny, sassy, and acts as the sun to Jackson's deep grumpiness, easily proving herself to be his soulmate. Jackson, having been burned by love and burdened by the weight of the vineyard's finances, is resistant to acting on his feelings, which creates a delicious, slow-burn tension.

Despite his strict resolve, Jackson begins to melt, caught sneaking glances and lingering longer than necessary whenever Ruby is around. The tension becomes unbearable, especially when she temporarily moves closer to them. The plot is perfectly balanced with witty banter and palpable romantic friction. When the couple finally gives in, the love and sex scenes are intensely steamy and kinky, proving that while they fell for each other slowly, the chemistry was full-blown attraction right away.

This story beautifully blends career ambition with a heartwarming family narrative, set against the lovely backdrop of Napa Valley—it truly made me want to book a trip immediately! With brilliant narration that brings the characters fully to life, Love You More delivers on its promise: it's a standalone contemporary romance with a fantastic amount of tension and spice, and a very satisfying happily-ever-after.
