Love You Anyway by Stacy Travis, and once again brilliantly narrated by Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue, is a captivating and sweet romance that continues to build on the charm of the Buttercup Hill series. While it is the second book, it can easily be read as a standalone.
Book Description
A Swoony Small-Town, Billionaire-Next-Door, Age Gap Romance
I thought hot nerdy billionaires only existed in books.
Then, brilliant astrophysicist Colin Hathaway moved in next door.
After losing his cool on camera, tech’s most eligible bachelor is hiding out in Buttercup Hill, getting a two-week taste of small town life while driving me crazy with that gorgeous smile and those deep blue eyes.
But I need to keep my distance. Not only is he ten years older and my brother’s college best friend, but I’m busy fending off the vultures trying to take over our family winery–and my siblings are just waiting for their little sister’s next bad decision.
Unfortunately, Colin is everywhere I turn. Offering to build me bookshelves, eating grilled cheese sandwiches in my kitchen, flying me off in a luxury helicopter to look at Mars through some fancy telescope.
Who knew the solar system was so sexy?
He’s impossible to resist.
The heat between us is white hot, and no one has ever looked at me the way he does–like I’m smart. Beautiful. Worthy. Strong. When he defends me in front of my family, I realize I’m in deep.
But one slip in front of the media could derail both of our careers. And my heart bears the scars of mistakes I’ve made in the past.
Trusting him could ruin everything I’m working for.
But what if I love him anyway?
Welcome to Buttercup Hill, where the men are hotter than the Napa Valley sun, and the wine flows all day long. LOVE YOU ANYWAY is Book 2 in the series of standalone novels, each with a happily ever after.
About Stacy Travis
Stacy Travis writes charming, spicy romance about bookish, sassy women and the hot alphas who fall for them.
Writing makes her infinitely happy, but that might be the coffee talking. She drinks a LOT of it.
She's worked as a journalist, camp counselor, TV writer, SAT tutor, corporate finance researcher, education technology editor, and non-fiction author. When she's not on a deadline, she's in running shoes complaining that all roads seem to go uphill. Or on the couch with a margarita. Or fangirling at a soccer game.
She's never met a dog she didn't want to hug. And if you have no plans for Thanksgiving, she'll probably invite you to dinner.
Stacy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two sons, and a poorly-trained rescue dog who hoards socks. And she's serious about the Thanksgiving thing.
My Thoughts
Love You Anyway by Stacy Travis, and once again brilliantly narrated by Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue, is a captivating and sweet romance that continues to build on the charm of the Buttercup Hill series. While it is the second book, it can easily be read as a standalone.
This installment focuses on PJ, the sassy and underestimated youngest Corbett sibling who manages the family winery's public relations, and Colin Hathaway, a billionaire astrophysicist and her older brother's college best friend. PJ is currently battling vultures circling the family business due to a missing sum of money, all while feeling like her siblings still view her as the unserious, young one.
Their romance is packed with appealing tropes: billionaire, brother's best friend, age gap, and close proximity. After losing his cool on camera, Colin moves into a cottage next door to PJ at the Napa Valley winery for a two-week hideout. Their story kicks off with a charming coffee shop meet-cute and a game of chess, before either realizes their connection. PJ is instantly drawn to Colin's nerdy, yet undeniably sexy, brilliance, while Colin is captivated by her upfront and real personality.
The inevitable close proximity leads to a secret relationship, filled with white-hot heat and undeniable chemistry. Colin is a workaholic, and PJ helps him slow down and enjoy life, while his steady support boosts her confidence, making her realize her true worth to the family business. I loved how Colin, the brilliant, hot nerdy billionaire, defends her in front of her family, making her feel smart, beautiful, and worthy.
Though the majority of the romance unfolds over a rapid two-week period, the connection is instantly convincing. Their journey is a perfect blend of witty banter, tender moments, and sizzling romance, all set against the gorgeous, authentic backdrop of the Napa Valley vineyard, which truly serves as a third character. The author seamlessly blends heart-tugging moments with humor, wrapping up an engaging, unputdownable page-turner with a happily ever after. I truly loved this story and can't wait for more in the series!
