Book Description

An explosion shatters the night. The three men I love are thrown from the bluff into the raging sea below.

And one of them can’t swim.

But the fall isn’t the only thing trying to kill us.

Every step we take, danger stalks closer.
Every breath we steal, the killer waits in the shadows.

When he rips someone I love away from me, the fragile family I’ve fought to build begins to unravel.

The killer has to be unmasked.
The ruin has to end.

Because this time, losing means more than death.

It means giving up the only people I can’t live without.

Reaper and Ruin is the final book in the Saint View Murder Squad trilogy. It cannot be read as a standalone. Start the series with book 1, X's and O's. Please note, Reaper and Ruin contains dark themes that may trigger some readers.

About Elle Thorpe

Elle Thorpe lives on the sunny east coast of Australia, about an hour out of Sydney. When she's not writing stories full of kissing and chemistry, she's a wife, and Mummy to three tiny humans. She's also official ball thrower to one slobbery dog named Rollo. Yes, she named a female dog after a male character on Vikings. Don't judge her. Elle is a complete and utter fangirl at heart, obsessing over The Walking Dead and Outlander to an unhealthy degree. But she wouldn't change a thing.

My Thoughts

Reaper and Ruin by Elle Thorpe is the absolutely brilliant final installment in the Saint View Murder Squad trilogy, wrapping up a dark, psycho-killing, romantic suspense series with a perfect, explosive ending. The action starts immediately as an explosion shatters the night, throwing the heroine, Violet, and the three men she loves from a bluff into the raging sea below—a situation made instantly more dire because one of her men can't swim. Yet, the fall is the least of their worries. Danger stalks their every step, and a relentless killer waits in the shadows. When he rips someone Violet loves away, the fragile family she has fought to build begins to unravel. The killer has to be unmasked and the ruin has to end, because this time, losing means more than death; it means giving up the only people she can't live without.

Elle Thorpe once again delivers a stunning read, finally resolving the intense cliffhangers from the previous books and revealing the identity of the mysterious stalker plaguing the murder squad. Beyond the thrilling suspense, this book is a triumph for Violet, who not only gets her men but finally learns to accept their deep, protective love without feeling the need to change who she is. I particularly adore the character of X; he's by far the standout favorite in the series—a little unhinged, perhaps, but the absolute bright light throughout the trilogy. I give Elle Thorpe a resounding 5 out of 5 stars for this book because she wrote this trilogy brilliantly, and Reaper and Ruin is the perfect cherry on top of a delicious, dark romance. If you haven't picked up this book or any of Elle's others, I highly recommend you start the series right away with Book 1, X's and O's, as Reaper and Ruin cannot be read as a standalone. Be aware that the novel contains dark themes that may trigger some readers, but for fans of the genre, this is a must-read conclusion.
