Booked for the Holidays by Erin Hawkins is a sweet and spicy holiday novella that perfectly blends the cozy charm of a small-town Christmas with the irresistible heat of a second-chance, brother’s best friend romance.

Book Description

Last Christmas, I gave Liam Hargrove my heart…

Okay, maybe not my heart. But I was ready to give him something else—until he panicked and dropped me on my ass, bruising both my tailbone and my ego. Now I’d like to forget the whole mortifying mess ever happened.

This year, I’m moving on. I’ve traded my silly crush on my brother’s best friend for a dream come true: opening Blush & Binding, Cedar Hollow’s first romance-only bookstore. With a calendar full of holiday events, this Christmas is going to be my best one yet.

Until Liam shows up.

With my parents’ house overflowing and the local inn booked solid, my mom oh-so-generously offers up my guest room.

Now he’s in my space, helping with inventory, charming my customers just by existing, and reading my annotated romance novels like they’re a guidebook. He says he wants to make it up to me…starting by reenacting a few of my favorite scenes.

His gingerbread house building skills are impressive, so I just might let him.
But this time, I’m not falling so easily—or at least not without a fight.

My Thoughts

Booked for the Holidays by Erin Hawkins is a sweet and spicy holiday novella that perfectly blends the cozy charm of a small-town Christmas with the irresistible heat of a second-chance, brother’s best friend romance.

The story centers on Juniper Jensen, who is finally ready to move on after her devastating encounter with Liam Hargrove last Christmas. Juniper, the younger sister of Liam’s best friend and business partner, had a crush on the handsome British hunk and was ready to act on it—until Liam panicked after their enthusiastic kiss and left her mortified and hurt. Now, Juniper has traded that crush for a dream come true: opening Blush & Binding, Cedar Hollow’s first romance-only bookstore. She's focused on holiday events and her bright future.

That is, until Liam shows up. With the town inn booked solid, Juniper's mother "generously" offers him the guest room. Now Liam is in her space, helping with inventory, charming customers, and worst of all, reading her annotated romance novels like they're a guidebook. Liam, who has spent the year secretly pining and working to grovel for his mistake, is determined to show Juniper that walking away from her was the mistake, not their kiss. He’s set on making it up to her, starting by re-enacting a few of her favorite spicy scenes from her annotated books.

Juniper, who is unashamedly feminine, vulnerable, and an independent businesswoman, forces Liam to work for his redemption. She puts up a good fight, trying to act unfazed, but Liam sees right through her tenacity. He is officially a top-tier book boyfriend: sexy, confident, and the king of dirty talk and sweet gestures. The scenes involving the book ladder, cherry swirl candies, and the way he talks her through everything—especially after reading her heavily tabbed romance novels—are incredibly hot. Liam does the absolute sweetest, most over-the-top things to earn her affection, and it all works out beautifully. This perfectly paced, high-heat novella is a delightful introduction to the holiday season and a must-read for anyone who loves a good second-chance romance with all the cozy, spicy feels.
