Book Description

One minute I’m cleaning toilets for minimum wage.
The next, I’m waking up from a drug-induced nap with a monster staring down at me.

Kidnapped and seconds from death, I think I’m done for…
Until masked men burst in, murder my attacker, and turn my world upside down.

They call themselves Murder Squad.

A secret brotherhood of broken men who only kill the worst of the worst.

And one of them thinks I’m his wife.

X is unhinged, obsessed, and deadly. A psychopath who hides behind bad jokes and bloodstained fingers.

Whip’s older, grumpy, and used to women paying him to worship them. But when he finds out I’m a virgin, he can’t keep his hands off my plus-size curves.

And Levi? One year of handwritten letters was all it took to fall in love with a man I’d never met. My prison pen pal turned killer, fighting his darkness for a second chance.

But they aren’t the only psychopaths in Saint View.

Someone’s playing a twisted game, leaving rhyming threats and promising to end us all if we don’t stop them first.

With every lie we uncover, every secret we expose, the danger mounts.
Until there’s only one thing we know for sure.

There’s a killer out there.
And this time, he’s hunting us.

About Elle Thorpe

Elle Thorpe lives on the sunny east coast of Australia, about an hour out of Sydney. When she's not writing stories full of kissing and chemistry, she's a wife, and Mummy to three tiny humans. She's also official ball thrower to one slobbery dog named Rollo. Yes, she named a female dog after a male character on Vikings. Don't judge her. Elle is a complete and utter fangirl at heart, obsessing over The Walking Dead and Outlander to an unhealthy degree. But she wouldn't change a thing.

My Thoughts

Elle Thorpe is a master of dark romance, and her latest series is a testament to her skill. X's and O's pulls you into the gritty, dangerous world of Saint View, a place where a new killer is on the loose. When Violet finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, she's saved by the mysterious "Murder Squad," a brotherhood of broken men who have no problem getting their hands dirty.

What follows is an intense ride as Violet navigates her new life with three men who are as obsessed with her as they are dangerous. There's X, the unhinged psychopath whose dark jokes hide a fierce obsession; Whip, the grumpy, older man who can't resist Violet's curves; and Levi, her former prison pen pal whose darkness is tempered by a second chance at love.

Thorpe’s ability to create a world filled with complex, interconnected characters is a huge part of this book’s charm. It’s a joy to see familiar faces from previous books, and you'll find yourself rooting for all of them. The banter between the characters is witty and genuinely funny, especially between X and Whip, providing moments of levity amidst the mounting tension.

For anyone who loves a dark reverse harem, this book is a must-read. The narration by a full cast—Kelsey Navarro Foster, Sean Crisden, Gregory Salinas, and Theo Sinclair—brings a vibrant energy to the story. You'll find yourself laughing, swooning, and seething right along with the characters.

Be warned: this book ends on a shocking cliffhanger that will leave you absolutely desperate for the next installment. If you’re ready for a thrilling, unpredictable ride, jump into Saint View and prepare to be hooked.
