What Happens in Carolina

This story is a pure joyride! We follow Tina and George, two new writers for the Lawson's Reach TV show. From an awkward first meeting to sharing a single office (and then just one bed!), their undeniable attraction is challenged by a hurricane and the fear of jeopardizing their big career break. But as hilarious, harrowing incidents pile up, they're forced to confront their feelings. Can they have both their dream job and true love?

I absolutely adored Tina and George's quirky outlook on life. Karen Grey's writing is incredibly clever, with cartoonish descriptions that brought every scene vividly to life in my mind. The narration by Carly Robins & Bradley Ford was simply delightful. They poured their hearts into their performance, truly embodying Tina and George and making them feel so real. This was my first time listening to both narrators, and I'm already eager for more of their work! A fantastic addition to the series.

I Want It That Way

Prepare for a slow-burn, fake-relationship romance that delivers all the feels! Dani is a woman tired of being taken advantage of by her family, leading her to seek drastic measures (which require a husband!). Enter Lukas Keith, a former child TV star returning to Wallington. He remembers Dani, his beautiful former set driver, and when he needs her help, he offers a marriage of convenience in return.

Dani and Luke are incredibly genuine characters, perfectly imperfect and supporting each other beautifully. Their arrangement quickly evolves into something much deeper, tugging at your heartstrings as their hearts become truly invested. But with Luke needing to return to LA and Dani loving her life in Wallington, can their budding romance survive the distance? Their friends and family add so much warmth, humor, and even a little tension to this heartwarming story.

Amy McFadden and Alastair Haynesbridge are fantastic narrators, new to me, but I loved every moment of listening to them. They perfectly balanced Dani and Luke's strengths and vulnerabilities, making me feel every genuine emotion. The bonus epilogue (available to newsletter subscribers) was also a wonderful treat!

When I Come Around

This story took me on an emotional rollercoaster, breaking my heart and then piecing it back together again. Ford has loved Whitney since they were kids, always feeling she was out of his league due to their differing backgrounds. Whitney, pressured by her privileged upbringing, only felt truly accepted with Ford and their friends. After a marriage to a man "worthy" of her parents, she lost those real friendships. When she collapses at a friend's wedding, Ford is there to catch her, leading to a second chance at life and love.

Karen Grey, the author, handles Whitney's sensitive journey with honesty and empathy, allowing both characters the time to heal and grow. Ford, burdened by past guilt, is excited to convince Whitney they're meant to be, but he knows he must help her heal first. Working together on a remote movie set, they finally feel free to act on their long-held feelings. But can Whitney find the strength to face her past and build a stronger future when they return home? I adored catching up with their supportive (and sometimes meddling!) friends, witnessing their unconditional love.

Ryan Lee Dunlap and Amanda Stribling were impeccably cast as narrators for this captivating, emotional, and steamy romance. They completely captured the complex emotions of Ford and Whitney, making me feel all their hope, heartbreak, vulnerability, and passion. Their storytelling was mesmerizing, truly bringing these characters and their story to life.
