In C.W. Farnsworth's From Now On, narrated by the talented Christian Fox and Rosie DiOrio, listeners are treated to a beautifully paced story that delves into the often frustrating, yet ultimately rewarding, complexities of timing in love. This audiobook perfectly captures that universal feeling of meeting someone special when the stars just don't align, only to wonder if, years later, the universe might finally be on your side.Book Description
Spending a week as a “fifth wheel” to two happy couples isn’t the best cure for heartbreak, but Eve Driscoll’s options for spring break are limited. Either join her best friend for a group getaway or slouch on the couch reliving the unexpected end of her three-year relationship.
Time away from campus might be exactly what Eve needs to refocus on her life-long dream that’s about to become a reality—moving to New York City to become an artist. She’s spent most of college playing it safe. Maybe she should take some risks before graduating. Starting with a road trip to California…
There couldn’t have been a better ending to Hunter Morgan’s hockey career than winning a national championship. But the high of hoisting a trophy is fading, forcing him to face difficult decisions about his post-graduation plans. Spring break will be a welcome distraction, although spending the week with his two best friends sounded a lot more appealing before they both got girlfriends. Until he finds out Eve Driscoll is joining their trip too…
Timing wasn’t on Hunter’s side freshman year. He isn’t even sure if Eve remembers the night they met. And he’s certain, only two months from graduation, the timing is even worse now.
But Hunter knows he’ll regret never telling Eve how much he wishes that evening had ended differently. Especially once he discovers she hasn’t forgotten him.

My Thoughts
In C.W. Farnsworth's From Now On, narrated by the talented Christian Fox and Rosie DiOrio, listeners are treated to a beautifully paced story that delves into the often frustrating, yet ultimately rewarding, complexities of timing in love. This audiobook perfectly captures that universal feeling of meeting someone special when the stars just don't align, only to wonder if, years later, the universe might finally be on your side.
The premise itself is relatable: Eve Driscoll, fresh off a breakup, finds herself on a spring break getaway as a "fifth wheel." Her focus is on her artistic dreams and a move to New York City. Meanwhile, Hunter Morgan, a hockey champion at a career crossroads, is also looking for a distraction from his post-graduation anxieties. When their paths unexpectedly cross again on a road trip to California, the stage is set for a truly compelling slow-burn romance.
What I particularly loved about this book is how it explores the tension of timing. Both Eve and Hunter are at significant crossroads in their lives, and their journey isn't just about finding each other, but also about discovering what they truly want beyond their budding connection. This adds a wonderful emotional depth that elevates the story beyond a typical romance. The romance itself is delicious; the slow build-up, the teasing moments, and the gradual way they let down their walls feel incredibly genuine and earned.
Christian Fox and Rosie DiOrio do an excellent job bringing Eve and Hunter to life. Their narration enhances the slow-burn aspect, allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in the characters' internal struggles and growing affection. Even with the fun, road-trip setting, there's an underlying emotional complexity that makes From Now On stick with you long after the final chapter. If you appreciate romances that are rich in character development, explore the nuances of timing, and deliver a satisfying slow burn, this audiobook is a must-listen.
