Book Description

After living in the city, she comes blasting back into Rose Hill like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic.

And one wide-eyed desperate plea for a job is all it takes for me to hire her.

Forbes may have labeled me the World’s Hottest Billionaire but all I care about is opening my new recording studio. Something that comes to a screeching halt when I end up face-to-face with a young girl who claims I’m her biological father.

Now I spend my days balancing business with parenting a sullen twelve-year-old all while trying desperately to keep my hands the hell off my best friend’s little sister.

I vow to keep Rosie at arm’s length. I try to stick to scowls and grumpy one-liners. But with her verbal sparring is merely foreplay—friction that turns to blistering heat.

I know damn well I shouldn’t cross that line.

But shouldn’t and can’t are two very different things.

And the only thing I truly can’t do is resist her.

About Elsie Silve

Canadian author who loves a good book boyfriend and the sassy heroines who bring them to their knees. Connoisseur of charged looks and lingering touches. Big fan of witty banter. Horse girl through and through. Fully convinced that it's always wine o'clock somewhere.

My Thoughts

I discovered Elsie Silver's book Wild Love while scrolling through TikTok. The audio clip I heard had me downloading it instantly. It was the best decision.

Ford Grant is a billionaire. He is also the son of a famous musician. Used to people only wanting to be around him for his money, Ford decides to move to Rose Hill, the small town he spent his summers. Here he gets to be near his best friend and start to build the music production company of his dreams. What he doesn't plan on is Rosie coming home or finding out he has a daughter. Rosie is the little sister of his best friend, which makes her off limits. But Ford isn't so sure he can stay away because the truth is he has loved Rosie since they were kids. When Rosie comes to work for him and begins to spend time with his daughter, Ford can't help but fall even more in love. But can Ford embrace who he is fully to be the man Rosie loves too?

Rosie returns home after something happens at her job in the city. Not wanting to tell her secret, she holds up in the bunk house on her brother's land. One night she sees Ford at her dock, things shift completely for her. She goes to work for Ford and starts to spend time with him and his daughter. Rosie spends her days teasing Frod and getting under his skin, after all, it's what they have always done. But as they begin to talk, Rosie learns there is more to Ford than what she thought, and just maybe he has loved her for as long as she has loved him. Can Rosie put her past behind her and trust Ford with her secret or will she walk away?

This book was so good. It was funny, sweet and it had depth. I loved that the characters had a long-standing relationship. You could tell they had built something real and lasting. I also loved that the extra side characters were hilarious, from Rosie's brother to Ford's sister. The entire book was brilliantly written. I felt the author nailed the whole small town vibe and everyone knowing everyone's business. This book was good and deserved all the rave reviews it has gotten.

Since I listened to this one on audio, the narration was well done. The writing, the narration, and the story were all perfectly weaved together to make it a book that I got swept into.
