My Thoughts

Luca is the second book in this Mafia Romance series by Sarah Castille, but it can be read alone.

Luca is an underboss in Nico's crew and a member of the mafia crime family that runs in Vegas. He has spent years trying to restore the family name that his father destroyed. Working for Nico, he has been loyal and done everything possible to restore his family name until he meets Gabriella, a cop. From their first meeting in the hospital room, Luca knows he wants Gabriella, but is he willing to give up the life he knows for the woman he loves?

Gabriella is a cop hell-bent on bringing her husband's murderer to justice. She will do whatever it takes to see him pay even seek the help of a mob boss. When Gabriella meets Luca her world changes. Numb from her loss she is not sure she can ever feel things again until Luca makes her feel things she never thought possible. As their bond grows Gabriella begins to lose her thirst for revenge but then Luca offers to help bring her husband's killer to justice. Is it the justice she wants or the justice she needs?

I have to say I love these two characters. I love how Luca wants nothing more than to protect his woman and she is determined to prove she can take care of herself. I love how they butt heads yet get each other and need each other. I also love how morally gray they both are neither right nor wrong just a blending of two worlds. I felt the author did a fabulous job giving us a backstory and building these two characters. I enjoyed the banter between them and the sexy time was hot.

Overall this was a great continuation of the mafia story and another great pairing of characters.
