The Chadwick boys are back, and they are as endearing and hilarious as ever in Whisper Sweet Nothings by Laura Pavlov . As soon as I got this audiobook in my hands—narrated flawlessly by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood—it was in my ears. I knew I was in for a fun, heartfelt, and swoony romance, but I also desperately needed to know if we’d finally find out the identity behind the Taylor Tea. This finale to the Rosewood River series feels like coming home, leaning into the warmth of a small town and tight-knit friendships that make these characters feel like real people rather than mere tropes.

I was already primed for Sutton’s story after his outrageous social media post for Gertie’s soap, but I wasn't prepared for the major book hangover this story left behind. It’s the kind of read that has you wandering through real life wishing you could slip straight into the town of Whispers and never come back.

Julia Wolf has a remarkable ability to pivot between subgenres without ever missing the mark, and Hit the Ground is a resounding testament to that. This story is as delightful and comforting as a well-worn flannel, delivering a charming Western small-town atmosphere and an agonizingly delicious slow burn. Set in the living, breathing community of Sugar Brush, Wyoming, the narrative follows Alice, a shy librarian and waitress, and Caleb Kelly, a protective single-dad rancher. Alice has spent four years harboring a quiet, unrequited crush on Caleb, watching him from afar until a single reckless kiss changes the trajectory of their lives.
