Ice Moon Truckers: A Cozy, Low-Stakes, Slice-of-Life Sci-Fi Adventure (No Stress Space Express, Book 7) by Jack Bodett—narrated with warmth and charm by Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder—is a delightful, cozy return to a universe where the ultimate sci-fi adventure means swapping space lanes for snow chains and trading starships for nine tons of American steel.

Book Description

Trading space lanes for snow chains…

Heya, friend. Rusty here, coolin' my heels in the frostiest snowstorm in the stars. See, our latest job is on an ice moon where the forecast is 24/7 blizzard, with a hundred-percent chance of "Heck no, you ain't flying in this." With Nessie stuck on the tarmac, Mike and I are bustin' out an old-school our classic big-rig from Earth. Let me tell ya, ain't nothin' can plow through a frozen alien tundra like nine tons of American steel.

We're headed for a mine way out in the boonies, where they're diggin' up crystals prettier than Piper's smile and bigger than Jenna's appetite. But there's a whole lot of adventure in that whiteout between us and our cargo. I'm talkin' 'bout busting through snow drifts the size of a barn, exploring ice canyons pretty as cathedrals, and making pit stops in rustic lodges warm as your mama's hugs.

So grab your thermos and hold onto your hat. We're about to turn the galaxy's grandest snow day into the joyride of a lifetime.

No Stress Space Express is a series about finding your true family, told with the common-sense wisdom of Jerry Boyd's Bob and Nikki series (Bob's Saucer Repair), and the low-stakes world building of Travis Baldree's Legends & Lattes. Join Rusty and his crew for a heart-warming, laugh-out-loud adventure with no tension, and no drama. Just good clean fun, great friendships, and a little romance too.

My Thoughts

Ice Moon Truckers: A Cozy, Low-Stakes, Slice-of-Life Sci-Fi Adventure (No Stress Space Express, Book 7) by Jack Bodett—narrated with warmth and charm by Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder—is a delightful, cozy return to a universe where the ultimate sci-fi adventure means swapping space lanes for snow chains and trading starships for nine tons of American steel.

In the previous installment, the tight-knit crew of the No Stress Space Express—human/Martian couples Rusty and Piper, alongside Mike and Jenna—agreed to help some friends in need by retrieving a sensitive, highly secretive special crystal from a distant ice moon. The catch? The satellite's atmosphere is a treacherous, 24/7 blizzard where any flying ship caught outside a narrow, nerve-wracking landing corridor risks frying its engines. To bypass the hazard, Rusty and Mike dust off an old-school solution: the heavy-duty Peterbilt 18-wheeler (affectionately named "Frampton" after singer Peter Frampton) that they were driving when they were accidentally abducted into space years ago.

What follows is an utterly charming, low-tension joyride across a frozen alien tundra. Rather than high-stakes danger or dark drama, the journey focuses on the pure joy of good company, cozy pit stops in rustic lodges, and navigating snowdrifts the size of barns. Along the way, the crew encounters classic slice-of-life hurdles that test their usual knack for effortless resourcefulness. For once, they finally run out of luck finding standard diesel fuel and have to get creative, while also crossing paths with a bureaucratic stickler who proves entirely impervious to their easygoing charm—proving that rule-followers exist in every corner of the galaxy.

Blending the common-sense wisdom of Jerry Boyd's Bob and Nikki series with the low-stakes, comforting world-building of Travis Baldree's Legends & Lattes, Ice Moon Truckers is a wonderful, laugh-out-loud distraction from everyday stress. Leaving off on an adventure that spills seamlessly into the next volume, the novel—elevated by Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder's engaging narration—delivers another heartwarming, comforting slice of sci-fi comfort reading.
