The driver is Noah Hunnicutt, a twenty-eight-year-old family pariah struggling to keep his tavern afloat, appease a judgmental father, and fend off a toxic ex. After surviving the storm together and stranding Hailey in the tiny hamlet, she steps in to help wait tables at his bar, hiding her true profession until a vengeful boss arrives to shut the business down. As Hailey and Noah navigate menacing notes, workplace sabotage, and a slow-burn attraction that gradually deepens into genuine mutual respect, they must figure out how to thwart outside forces and overcome their own vulnerabilities.
Grounded by realistic character flaws, a delightful supporting cast of quirky townspeople, and the lovable dog who brought them together, the narrative delivers a wonderful blend of drama, angst, and heartwarming romance.
