In a desperate bid to finish her series, Kate discovers that the scent of tires and the flow of free coffee at the local shop are the only things getting her creative juices flowing. She believes she is successfully flying under the radar until she catches the eye of Miles Hudson, a rugged and charming mechanic who quickly calls her bluff.

Instead of blowing the whistle on her daily trespassing, Miles finds himself captivated by the quirky redhead who air-kisses the room while plotting her next spicy chapter. Their relationship unfolds through a series of humorous interactions as they transition from wary strangers to "book research" buddies, with Miles more than willing to help Kate test-drive her latest plot points.
