Narrated with incredible skill by Wesley Mercer and Marissa Clay, this audiobook captures a journey that begins when Cecily Hampton flees a near-perfect first date with Dominic Bellinger after overhearing what she believes is a major red flag. When they are both summoned to Las Vegas for mutual friends, their mutual resentment turns into a drunken "I do."This leads to a forced-proximity road trip across Arizona to fulfill the final wish of Cecily’s beloved grandmother. The dynamic between Cecily and Dom is the heartbeat of this book. Their banter is sharp, sarcastic, and perfectly timed, making me cackle as their thin-veiled insults and "hard feelings" slowly unravel into genuine understanding and trust.
Wesley Mercer and Marissa Clay elevate the experience, bringing an emotional realness to every eye-roll-worthy comment and sizzling moment of tension. It was incredibly refreshing to see a hero like Dom who isn't just charming and hardworking, but also values growth—men in therapy truly make the best romance heroes.
