I am completely in love with Love You, Mean It by Laura Pavlov, a triumphant story that was brilliantly brought to life by the dynamic narrators, Erin Mallon and Connor Crais! This is the second book in the Blushing series, and I didn't think Laura could outdo herself after the first, but she did. It was so freaking good that I was hooked right off the bat, and the audio performance by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon was perfection; they played their characters flawlessly, enhancing the emotions and delivering the top-tier banter masterfully.Book Description
From USA Today bestselling author Laura Pavlov comes a story about found family and the power of acceptance, all wrapped up in a sizzling romance set in the frozen north.
Charlie Huxley’s the best—and grumpiest—general contractor in Blushing, Alaska. He built the venue for the wedding-planning business my bestie and I share. After I accidentally flood my home, he offers me his guesthouse while he handles the repairs. But when he starts to take charge, I feel myself losing control.
Unable to resist, we casually hook up. We both know once will never be enough.
Between us, we carry plenty of baggage. I’ve got the absent father, drunk mother, and estranged sister. He grew up in foster care and is single-handedly raising a daughter whose mom visits just once a year.
But Charlie makes me feel like I belong. And for the first time ever, I picture myself with a real family.
Before I go all in, I need to learn to set some boundaries. Question Am I strong enough?

My Thoughts
I am completely in love with Love You, Mean It by Laura Pavlov, a triumphant story that was brilliantly brought to life by the dynamic narrators, Erin Mallon and Connor Crais! This is the second book in the Blushing series, and I didn't think Laura could outdo herself after the first, but she did. It was so freaking good that I was hooked right off the bat, and the audio performance by Connor Crais and Erin Mallon was perfection; they played their characters flawlessly, enhancing the emotions and delivering the top-tier banter masterfully.
The book is set in the charming small town of Blushing, Alaska, and being back there felt like being wrapped in a comfy blanket. This time, we dive into Violet Beaumont's happily ever after. Violet is currently going through a home remodel, and due to an accidental flood, her best friend's venue-builder, Charlie Huxley—the grumpiest general contractor in town—offers her his guesthouse while he handles the repairs. Violet, a wedding planner, initially doesn't particularly like her new landlord, but as she is around him more, her eyes are opened to the man beneath the bickering.
Charlie, who grew up in foster care, is a determined, perfect father to his daughter, Harper, resolute in being everything his daughter needs, especially since her mother visits just once a year. He's determined to love her enough for two parents, but as he and Violet spend time together, an undeniable spark ignites. The banter between them is top tier, PERFECTION, and despite Violet’s initial thought that her new landlord is a real hard-ass, she can't keep her hands off him. They fall into a casual hook-up arrangement, knowing instantly that once will never be enough.
Both carry plenty of baggage: Violet has an absent father, a drunk mother, and an estranged sister, while Charlie is single-handedly raising Harper. But Charlie, the swoony, grumpy hero, makes Violet feel like she truly belongs. When he calls her "Firefly" 🫠, I melted each time; it was so adorable, making Violet realize she was worthy of love. Their relationship grew with authenticity and felt incredibly real, quickly forming the most perfect trio—maybe Violet could be exactly what Charlie and Harper both needed. For two people who had crumby childhoods, their happily ever after was just what they both deserved.
The emotions in this book are intense, and the great narration by Erin Mallon and Connor Crais truly amplified every feeling, from the banter to the deepest emotional moments. It's a wonderful read, a touching story of forgiveness and second chances, not just in romance but in family, too. I just couldn't get enough of this feel-good story and wish it was even longer! As the book title says: "Hashtag 'love you, mean it.' You show it. You feel it. And you live it.” I highly recommend this one!
