Chase Williams.
Broody. Damaged. Reclusive.
He’s been keeping to his ranch ever since he retired from the army. The scars on his body tell a story of pain and loss, and there is no denying the demons of the past hiding behind his serious gaze.
Chase claims he isn't anybody’s savior, and yet, he keeps coming to my rescue.
Now that we’re next-door neighbors, it’s impossible to stay away. My son worships him, and the more time we spend together, the more I get to see the man hiding behind the scars.
And I’m not the only one. Chase sees me. Not just that, he makes me wish for things I never thought possible, but can two broken people like us ever heal and learn to trust in love again?
About Anna B. Doe
She writes real-life romance, filled with angst and banter. Her characters are flawed and relatable. If you love big groups of friends with strong, sassy heroines and sexy heroes who're obsessed with them, Anna's books are perfect for you.
When she's not writing her newest book you can find her reading, binge-watching TV shows or listening to music on long walks with her dog. She's addicted to coffee and can't wait for her next adventure.
She is currently working on various projects. Some more secret than others.
My Thoughts
In Anna B. Doe's Make Me Trust Again, Rose, a woman who has bravely left her abusive ex-husband, is determined to build a new life for herself and her son, Kyle. But nothing could have prepared her for her new neighbor, Chase Williams.
Chase is broody, damaged, and reclusive, having returned to his ranch after his time in the army. The scars on his body tell a story of pain and loss, and the demons of his past hide behind his serious gaze. He claims he's nobody's savior, yet he can't help but come to Rose's rescue. Now that they are neighbors, it's impossible to stay away.
Rose's son, Kyle, immediately takes to Chase and his dog, Shadow, and their bond is incredibly sweet. As Rose and Chase spend more time together, she begins to see the man hiding behind the scars. And she's not the only one. Chase sees her—not just the single mom, but the woman beneath the surface. He makes her wish for things she never thought possible, but the question remains: Can two broken people ever heal and learn to trust in love again?
This is a story of two people with difficult pasts finding solace and healing in each other. Chase, who initially wants to be left alone, is a true "king" whose love language is 100% acts of service. Rose, who has been through so much, finally finds someone who shows her how she deserves to be treated.
For fans of Anna B. Doe, this book is a rewarding read. You'll be fully invested in Rose and Chase's journey, especially after meeting them in previous books. Watching Chase shed his layers and become more approachable is a highlight of the story. The tension between them is palpable, and you'll find yourself rooting for their happily ever after.
