I've been eagerly anticipating this couple since the last book, and Where We Bloom by Kristen Proby did not disappoint! Narrated by the incredibly talented Emma Wilder and Connor Crais, this age-gap, billionaire, best friend's brother romance is set in the stunning Bitterroot Valley.
Book Description
Connor
After an explosive night together, I thought I’d never see the gorgeous bookstore owner again.
We didn’t exchange names and numbers, and when I left her asleep the following morning, I didn’t intend to pursue her. I don’t have time for relationships nor entanglements.
I’m the CEO of Gallagher Hotels, and my life is spent traveling around the world, focusing on my business, not a small town in Montana. Even if my thoughts keep returning to the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.
It turns out, my mystery woman, Billie, is my sister’s best friend, and she’s suddenly everywhere I turn. She’s become my obsession and all I think about. She’s become the only thing that means more to me than running my empire. And I’m determined to have her.
Billie
Owning a bookstore in my hometown of Bitterroot Valley has been my lifelong dream since I was a little girl. The only thing that brings me more joy is my love of thrift stores and coffee.
And, maybe, the sexy Irishman with intense emerald-colored eyes that take my breath away. His charming accent, how he looks at me, and the way he spoils me with lavish gifts are just the icing on the cake. I’ve tried to stay away from him, but my resolve is slipping. Nothing is better than being in Connor’s arms and feeling like I’m the most important woman in his world. But being with a high-profile billionaire comes with a price. Can we withstand the storm headed our way, or are we destined to fall apart like delicate blooms in the wind?

My Thoughts
I've been eagerly anticipating this couple since the last book, and Where We Bloom by Kristen Proby did not disappoint! Narrated by the incredibly talented Emma Wilder and Connor Crais, this age-gap, billionaire, best friend's brother romance is set in the stunning Bitterroot Valley.
The story kicks off with a unique twist: our main characters, Connor and Billie, have already had their explosive one-night stand. Connor, a high-powered CEO of Gallagher Hotels, lives a fast-paced life with no time for relationships. He's completely thrown off his game when he discovers the woman he can't stop thinking about, Billie, is his sister's best friend.
Billie, a bookstore owner and a lover of thrift stores, is fierce and unapologetically herself. She's not looking for a high-profile billionaire, but she can't resist Connor's charming Irish accent and the way he makes her feel like the most important woman in the world. Their initial "hands-off" resolve lasts about two and a half seconds, leading to a passionate romance that's both sweet and spicy.
I adored how strong-willed both characters are. They both run their own businesses, which gives their connection a deeper layer than just physical attraction. Billie, in particular, is a phenomenal character—she takes no grief from anyone and is completely at home in her own skin. I especially appreciated the beautiful plus-size representation, which was handled with a perfect balance of authenticity and respect.
Connor's nickname for Billie had me absolutely swooning! He's a broody hero who initially believes love isn't for him, but he can't help but be drawn to Billie's fierce spirit. The way he worships her and his determination to take care of her, even when she's resistant, is incredibly endearing.
The dual narration by Connor Crais and Emma Wilder elevates this story to another level. Crais's Irish accent is spot-on and will undoubtedly make you need a tall glass of cold water. Emma Wilder perfectly captures Billie's headstrong yet vulnerable personality. The banter and chemistry between them were pure magic, making this a truly immersive listen.
This was a heartwarming and spicy story, and I can't wait to see what the next book in the Blackwells of Montana series brings!
