Fall in love like it’s 1995.
From USA Today bestselling author Tracy Sumner comes a steamy enemies-to-lovers '90s romance—where sparks fly, walls come down, and love shows up when you least expect it.
He’s got a camera, a complicated past, and a stare that sees straight through her—too bad he’s also her landlord. And the last man she should be falling for.
Fontana Quinn doesn’t have time for brooding photographers with too many opinions. She’s busy running a barely-surviving business, raising her teenage sister, and trying to stay on top of the bills—including rent on the cottage she just learned is owned by none other than Campbell True.
He’s thoughtful. Intense. Brilliant.
And he’s living next door.
Temporarily back in Promise to care for his younger brother, Campbell doesn’t plan to stay long. But Fontana is impossible to ignore—sharp-tongued, beautiful, and determined not to let him under her skin.
They clash over everything. But behind every argument is something neither of them wants to admit. That they’re drawn to each other. Badly.
She’s guarded. He’s grieving.
And the fire between them is starting to feel a lot like fate.
One stubborn man. One fierce woman.
One chance to turn sparks into something real.
About Tracy Sumner
“A superpowered twist on Victorian romance! Witty dialogue and steamy sensuality.”
—Publisher’s Weekly
USA Today bestselling author Tracy Sumner’s storytelling career began when she picked up a historical romance on a college beach trip, and she fondly blames LaVyrle Spencer for her obsession with the genre. She’s a recipient of the National Reader’s Choice, MAGGIE, and HOLT Medallion awards.
When not writing sizzling love stories about feisty heroines and their temperamental-but-entirely-lovable heroes, Tracy enjoys reading, snowboarding, college football (Go Tigers!), yoga, and travel. She loves to hear from romance readers! She's currently a southern girl living in the Big Apple.

My Thoughts
As a long-time admirer of Tracy Sumner’s historical romances, I was thrilled to learn she was venturing into the 90s, and True Dreams is a pitch-perfect journey back in time. This steamy, engrossing enemies-to-lovers story captures the essence of the decade perfectly, delivering a romance that is both comfortingly nostalgic and thrillingly new.
The story drops us into the small town of Promise, into the lives of two people who are worlds apart, yet living right next door. Fontana "Tana" Quinn is a fiercely independent woman with no time for distractions; she’s busy running a business, raising her teenage sister, and trying to keep her head above water. The last thing she needs is a brooding, opinionated landlord, but that's exactly what she gets in Campbell "Cam" True. A brilliant photographer with a complicated past, Cam is only back in town temporarily to care for his family, with every intention of leaving. But Tana, with her sharp tongue and beautiful, guarded heart, is a complication he can't ignore.
Sumner masterfully builds a world that feels authentically 90s, right down to the brilliant touch of assigning a song to each chapter. The chemistry between Cam and Tana is simply off the scale; they lock horns at every turn, yet every argument sizzles with an undeniable attraction that eventually ignites into a night that changes everything. But a single night can't erase the baggage and secrets both characters carry, and their stubborn inability to let go of their pasts creates a deeply compelling conflict.
True Dreams is a beautifully written story that ticked all the boxes for me. It is captivating, steamy, and so emotional I had to grab a hankie a couple of times. With strong characters and a romance that feels both hard-fought and destined, this book was impossible to put down. I just loved it.
